Straight Talk I am a Ted Cruz supporter, but I want to say a thing or too to my Republican brothers and sisters...indeed to all of my American brothers and sisters...about Donald Trump. I hear many people, analysts, prgnosticators, and politicians trying to explain the Turmp "Phenomenon." They go to great lengths about all sorts of things when it is really pretty easy and straight forward. It's a three bullet point explanation:
Say what you will about the man. Call him irreverant. Call him angry. Call him a braggart. Call him whatever you want. Most people already understand all those types of things about him...and they are getting behind him anyway because of those three very direct points I just mentioned. He has opened the doors wide on issues that most Americans think about...and offering solutions that most American people have already thought to themselves. Now those same Americans are finding out that the right person does not have to be politically correct. The right person does not have to be politically spit and polished. The right person simply has to be believed. Let's just look at five pretty big things real quickly:
As I say, I am a Ted Cruz supporter. I believe Ted cruz would make all of these things happen as well, and ahs simlarly good plans for them. I intend to support Ted as long as he is in the race...and to the nomination if we can get there. But I also believe Trump is a very capable individual who can make these things happen too...and so would support him in a heartbeat if he wins the nomination. I also talk to a LOT of people. I know Black Americans who voted for Obama and feel very let down by him (with good reason...life for many Black Americans is worse under Obama than it has been in years), who will be voting for Trump.
I know Latino Americans whose parents or grandparents (or themselves) came to this country legally and who lean Democratic, but who will be voting for Trump. Why? It is precisely because they want illegal immigration controlled and believe Trump will actually do it...and not just pay lip service to it. They also believe that his economic policies will make life better for them and their families. I know many people in New York who are excited about Trump's prospects for putting New York in play for the GOP...and I believe he is the one GOP candidate who could do so. Seriously, I think the prognosticators, analysts, and career/establishment politicans simply do not get it. And so I think that what they are going to "get" is a big fat surprise. I honestly think that Trump may have the ability to pull together a large coalition capable of winning in a big fashion...something like we have not been seen since the 1980 and 1984 Reagan victories. And what is intrersting...if you remember it, or if you study it...it would be for very similar reaons and addressing very similar cicumstances. Is Trump mad or angry? Perhaps about certain things he is. But you might also call it rightously indignant or frustrated as well. But guess what? So are a LOT of Americans! Trump is speaking to that, and he is doing so in such a way that the people are inclined to give him the opportunity to make good on what he is saying. And if he does get the nomination, and if he does go on and accomplish these things... Well, get ready for eight years of a major turnaround and America becoming great again...in the eyes of its own citizens, and in the eyes of the world. Jeff Head

Thanks for posting this Jeff.
FYI-—I decided to detail my thoughts about this.
You are welcome...I believe that it’s pretty straight forward actually.
YOU get it.
Count me unsurprised.
Good to hear from you.
Well done
Nailed It !
Precisely
Bump!
And the lraders in both parties want to continue to sell the US down the road.
They’re all a pack of thieves.
I hope your beliefs come true and that Trump turns
out the way you hope, and lives up to your expectations.
He is not my first choice but he at least gives some
chance of striking down the lib/prog rot that is
infesting our country.
November can’t come soon enough.
Who can argue with what the author has stated? It’s all right in front of you if you just listen to what Trump is saying. Love him or hate him, he tells it like it is.
What a far cry this Cruz supporter is from the Cruz supporters who infest this board. He sounds exactly like the Cruz supporters I know in real life, they like Cruz better than Trump, but they do not hate Trump, indeed they admire how Trump has completely changed the dynamic of this election, and they will support him if he is the candidate.
Outstanding! Thanks for taking the time to write it as well as you did.
tet...he is not my 1st choice either. Ted Cruz is.
But I believe that the things I have written are accurate...and I too hope, and pray...that if he becomes the nominee that it will work out like this.
If he is the nominee...I will work just as hard for him as I would if Ted Cruz got it.
Now if only Trump didn't suffer from some variation of Tourettes I could feel good about his nomination.
I'm only half kidding.
Thus, the rise of Donald John Trump. And the fall of the GOPe.
Thanks Jeff!

Same as what the French did to Japanese imports of VCR equipment at the Poitier customs post....the Japanese backed down.
Most Cruz supporters that I know feel this way to one degree or another.
Not one Ted Cruz supporter that I know personally “hates” Trump, or would ever dream of sitting home if Ted does not make it and Trump does.
If they do...I submit they are not truly supporting Cruz and what he really represents.
Because no loyal, God fearing American would dream of being so imbecilic or crass as thinking to hand the election to Hillary or sanders by “staying home” because of their hurt feelings.
The people who would do that are either very immature and shallow...or they are red herrings and agents provocateurs...IMHO.
