Cruz: I’d Look For and Deport All Illegal Immigrants, Rubio and Trump Would Allow Citizenship
Breitbart ^ | 22 Feb 2016 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 02/24/2016 1:39:53 PM PST by TBP

Republican presidential candidate Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said he would seek out and deport all the illegal immigrants in the US and that both fellow candidates Donald Trump and Florida Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)“would allow those 12 million people to become US citizens” on Monday’s “The O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel.

Cruz began by stating [relevant remarks begin around 2:30] that the law should be enforced, and illegal immigrants in the US should be deported.

When asked if he would “go look for them” Cruz responded, “Bill, of course you would. That’s what ICE exists for. We have law enforcement that looks for people, who are violating the laws that apprehends them, and deports them.”

When asked if he would send federal law enforcement to the home of someone who overstayed their visa to deport them, Cruz said, “You better believe it.” He later added that he would put a biometric exit/entry system for visas.

After host Bill O’Reilly contended the courts would probably block this plan because of due process, Cruz objected. He further stated, “[T]he biggest difference is that Donald Trump and Marco Rubio and myself, is that both Donald Trump and Marco Rubio would allow those 12 million people to become U.S. citizens. Donald said once he deports them, he’d let them back in as citizens. I will not.” Cruz continued that under existing federal law, illegal immigrants who are deported are not eligible to come back into the US legally, and that Trump’s and Rubio’s positions “aren’t consistent with rule of law.”

Missing the point. Trump said all illegals must go and he would allow them back but only if they went through the process all legal immigration must go through. They must re-immigrate LEGALLY, not via some kind of “amnesty” order.

What Trump supports is Touchback amnesty....

http://www.newsweek.com/who-knew-trump-favors-amnesty-undocumented-immigrants-395512

Trump supports amnesty.

On Fox News on November 12, Trump’s son Eric expressed frustration that the media overlooks this:

“The point isn’t just deporting them, it’s deporting them and letting them back in legally. He’s been so clear about that and I know the liberal media wants to misconstrue it, but it’s deporting them and letting them back legally.”

Eric Trump is right. His father has been crystal clear that he wants all the illegals to return and live in America.

Listen closely to what Trump is actually proposing. In an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash earlier this year, Trump explained his plan this way:

“I would get people out and then have an expedited way of getting them back into the country so they can be legal.... A lot of these people are helping us ... and sometimes it’s jobs a citizen of the United States doesn’t want to do. I want to move ‘em out, and we’re going to move ‘em back in and let them be legal.”

This is a policy called “touchback” and it was first proposed in 2007 by moderate Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (Texas). She offered a “touchback” amendment on the Senate floor that would have required illegal immigrants to return to their home countries to apply for a special “Z visa” that would allow them to re-enter the United States in an expedited fashion and work here indefinitely.

Cruz has been forced to move to the right on this issue. Thank Trump for that.

100 percent false, as you know. He is currently co-sponsoring a bill with Senator Sessions that would freeze H-1B visas indefinitely. After that, they’d be greatly reduced.

Yet another salutorious effect result of the Trump Effect: driving the remaining candidates to the right, hoping their shift can keep them in the race a few days longer.

If you use a bigger font and some colors it becomes more true. You should try that.

The Canadian with no original ideas and no accomplishments tries to copy Trump...and fails again. At this rate, Cruz will not win re-election to the Senate. He is an embarrassment.

I’ll type slow so you can follow.

That does not say what Ted said. Ted said that Donald would let them back in as citizens.

Are you special needs?

Yep. All Trump said was he would let some of the “really good ones” back in. He never said they would get any breaks in the process of legally immigrating, or what qualifies as being a really good one. If someone who was here leaves voluntarily I have no problem with them applying to enter legally and getting into the back of the line. It’s an incentive to self-deport.

Mere window dressing and attempt at damage control. I hoped Cruz would run long before he announced. Then his H1B position came out and then it was teddy bears and soccer balls with Glen Beck that got me to look elsewhere.
