Republican presidential candidate Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said he would seek out and deport all the illegal immigrants in the US and that both fellow candidates Donald Trump and Florida Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)âwould allow those 12 million people to become US citizensâ on Mondayâs âThe OâReilly Factorâ on the Fox News Channel.
Cruz began by stating [relevant remarks begin around 2:30] that the law should be enforced, and illegal immigrants in the US should be deported.
When asked if he would âgo look for themâ Cruz responded, âBill, of course you would. Thatâs what ICE exists for. We have law enforcement that looks for people, who are violating the laws that apprehends them, and deports them.â
When asked if he would send federal law enforcement to the home of someone who overstayed their visa to deport them, Cruz said, âYou better believe it.â He later added that he would put a biometric exit/entry system for visas.
After host Bill OâReilly contended the courts would probably block this plan because of due process, Cruz objected. He further stated, â[T]he biggest difference is that Donald Trump and Marco Rubio and myself, is that both Donald Trump and Marco Rubio would allow those 12 million people to become U.S. citizens. Donald said once he deports them, heâd let them back in as citizens. I will not.â Cruz continued that under existing federal law, illegal immigrants who are deported are not eligible to come back into the US legally, and that Trumpâs and Rubioâs positions âarenât consistent with rule of law.â

Something you should read from a Cruz supporter.

Hope you don’t mind Jeff.
Thanks for you insightful Thread.
That's wrong. Trump made no mention that all illegals must go until the end of July. And then he said he would expedite the good ones back.
Yup. There will always be a hard core of zealots who will demand 100% and end up with nothing. They just become background noise.
“I donât doubt that. Some people will take 80% of a loaf and call it a win. Others will demand 100% and end up with nothing.”
And then there’s those who buy into the fad of the day and get caught up in the cult of personality. I’m not one of those people.
Yes, that's been Trump's position since the end of July.
End of July - that’s about when he started this thing isn’t it? More hair splitting. And he said they would have to re-immigrate LEGALLY.
What about Cruz’s misleading statement?
Once again Trumpsters follow their leader in accusing anyone who exposes his record of “lying.” You people need a wake-up call to realize you’re being sucked in by “art of the deal” showmanship when Trump’s actual, binding words say the opposite of what you think they do.

But his supporters tend to overlook his other promise-repeated in the Fox Business debate in Milwaukee on November 10âthat under his immigration plan “they will come back.”
Trump explained his plan this way:
I would get people out and then have an expedited way of getting them back into the country so they can be legal.... A lot of these people are helping us ... and sometimes it’s jobs a citizen of the United States doesn’t want to do. I want to move ‘em out, and weâre going to move ‘em back in and let them be legal.
Trump’s son Eric expressed frustration that the media overlooks this:
The point isn’t just deporting them, it’s deporting them and letting them back in legally. He’s been so clear about that and I know the liberal media wants to misconstrue it, but itâs deporting them and letting them back legally.
I hope they stick around. Watching them wallow in their irrelevance will provide needed comic relief.
Nice to see Cruz coming around to Trump’s position. Too bad IT TOOK HIM 6 MONTHS to figure it out.
More excuses. He made his announcement in June.
And he said they would have to re-immigrate LEGALLY.
He said that he would expedite them back in a legal way. I'm sure Reid, Ryan, McConnell and Pelosi would give Trump a good legalization amnesty.
What about Cruz's misleading statement?
Trump did say back in July that he would consider a citizenship amnesty later, so that doesn't quite match with what Cruz said Trump said.
The whole stupid lie about that reporter is garbage. He claimed that he didn't even remember meeting him, nor that he is disabled. Trump has been interviewed a myriad of times, by many different reporters and yet, you imagine that he would remember this one? LOL
The rest of your spurious cavailings aren't even worth my time and effort.
OTOH....you support Cruz, who is joined at the hip with the INSANE Glenn Beck, who chose Rowe, who is well known for his nasty and yes, in some states illegal, DIRTY TRICKS, lies his head off, says one thing one time and then when caught, claims that he meant it but that what he said doesn't mean what you thought it meant, and on and on. But you are so emotionally invested in Ted, that you are incapable of seeing reality.
???
They're all going to get worse as their idol, with feet of clay up to his eyeballs, keeps on losing.
Crus’s immigration plan makes more sense to me. You can revoke
visas when necessary.
“He claimed that he didn’t even remember meeting him, nor that he is disabled.”
Uh huh. Of course you believe him. Trump also claimed he could shoot someone in the middle of the street and wouldn’t lose any supporters. That’s definitely true.
No he hasn’t.
No it isn’t. Trump has what is called the touchback program. Ship them back and then they get to come back here.
Read his paper on immigration.
You forgot to mention you should also go back and clean out donnies septic tanks.
Obviously, you have no sense of humor at all.
Again. Roy Beck, founder of NumbersUSA describes Trumps alleged "touchback".
" Illegal aliens would not be rewarded with legal status (work permits, benefits, Social Security cards, citizenship, etc.) without at least first leaving the country.
No legal status would be granted to those illegal aliens until illegal immigration is brought under control. At a minimum, that includes a fence and adequate Border Patrol activity.
He would start giving legal status to illegal aliens who have gone home ONLY after the "bad" illegal aliens have been deported from the U.S.
Once the prerequisites have been met, he would move quickly to get deserving illegal aliens back into the United States.
In general, Trump has described a Touchback Amnesty which was pushed a few years ago by Rep. Mike Pence (now governor of Indiana).
The difference between Trump's Touchback and Pence's seems to be that Trump has put a lot of "have-to" steps before the amnesty would be given. Those steps might take years."
