Cruz: I’d Look For and Deport All Illegal Immigrants, Rubio and Trump Would Allow Citizenship
Breitbart ^ | 22 Feb 2016 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 02/24/2016 1:39:53 PM PST by TBP

Republican presidential candidate Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said he would seek out and deport all the illegal immigrants in the US and that both fellow candidates Donald Trump and Florida Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)“would allow those 12 million people to become US citizens” on Monday’s “The O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News Channel.

Cruz began by stating [relevant remarks begin around 2:30] that the law should be enforced, and illegal immigrants in the US should be deported.

When asked if he would “go look for them” Cruz responded, “Bill, of course you would. That’s what ICE exists for. We have law enforcement that looks for people, who are violating the laws that apprehends them, and deports them.”

When asked if he would send federal law enforcement to the home of someone who overstayed their visa to deport them, Cruz said, “You better believe it.” He later added that he would put a biometric exit/entry system for visas.

After host Bill O’Reilly contended the courts would probably block this plan because of due process, Cruz objected. He further stated, “[T]he biggest difference is that Donald Trump and Marco Rubio and myself, is that both Donald Trump and Marco Rubio would allow those 12 million people to become U.S. citizens. Donald said once he deports them, he’d let them back in as citizens. I will not.” Cruz continued that under existing federal law, illegal immigrants who are deported are not eligible to come back into the US legally, and that Trump’s and Rubio’s positions “aren’t consistent with rule of law.”

I guess I found the Coalition of the Delusional thread for the night.

So Mr. H1B is going to be tough on illegals. You bet.

And he’s also going to come from behind and win big next Tuesday.

And he’s certain to oppose free trade agreements. Just like he did with TPA.

Go Teddy! Spend that cash stash!

Sad that Ted & the truth don’t seem to walk hand in hand.

Maybe he should apologize again.

under the Cruz’ plan, no deported illegal can ever apply for citizenship

under the Trump plan, deported illegals are eligible to apply for citizenship if certain conditions are met (Carson’s “guest worker” plan, with applications to be accepted only from those outside the US, seems more similar to Trump’s plan)

under Rubio’s plan, we debate how to deport illegals for another 10 years or so - pushing the question completely out of the domain of an 8yr term - and/or we restrict their rights as citizens to vote for another 10 or so more years (Kasich has actively worked to block deportation so his plan seems similar to Rubio’s plan)

which plan is more likely to get passed by Congress?

How can you tell that he is lying and Trump is not? Trump was totally against deportation when Romney was President. Cruz never said he was against it. he said we would secure the border and talk about it. So they have both evolved on their view, but it seems to me that Cruz took a small step and Trump took some freaking giant leap.

“Just the month before Trump got in the race, Cruz stabbed us in the back with Fast Track for Obama for TPP. That was a mistake.”

Now, now. He was for it before he was against it.

A three year old tweet? A tweet when he was just a private person? LOL

Look, Cruz is a serial liar, a flip flopper, and nobody has to go back years to substantiate what I and others state truthfully about him. OTOH, his whole life is based on lies, so going back a few years, there's also a LOT on him and his disastrous pronunciamentos, as a POL.

And your link doesn't make "HE'S A SECOND HAND CAR SALESMAN" impugnation truthful. You failed and keep failing and you flail around.

Ted: “Donald said once he deports them, he’d let them back in as citizens.”

Bald faced lie.

Yep, another lie. He may lose Texas over this.

What’s next Ted, free Tedder-Care ? Cruz-Phones for all? I’m sure there’s a few political policies left to plagiarize.

Cram the context twisting. It is a BS lie. CRam it. He will only give preference to professionals and excellent students. Stop with the everybody gets back quickly nonsense. Again, cram it like Cruz needs to.

Cruz was self deportation. So when did that change? Today? He obviously is lying again to try and save Texas. Bring on the Sheriff again. Whom to believe Sheriff Arpaio or lyin’ Cruz.

“No, you won’t. Because there’s not a chance in hell I’d ever vote for Trump.”

I don’t doubt that. Some people will take 80% of a loaf and call it a win. Others will demand 100% and end up with nothing. C’est la vie.

“At this rate, Cruz will not win re-election to the Senate. He is an embarrassment.”

We can hope.
