Much of the media is treating the end of Jeb Bush's campaign as a moment to eulogize the Bush family dynasty.
Some are trampling on the family grave, while others are being a bit nostalgic. But in most of these pieces, an ember of hope for the legacy is missing.
There's a fourth generation already in office in Texas - Jeb's own son, George Prescott.
George P. is getting some attention on social media, where pundits have pointed out that maybe it's too soon to call an end to the Bush family involvement in presidential politics.

In other words, no need to involve the American electorate... this is a matter for the Uniparty.
No thanks
Why don’t these folks get real jobs?
I posted the other day that P is already running for 2020. To make that work, the Bushes need a one term democrat.
the Jeb-You/re-Next debacle
What a great label.
I am so glad Trump destroyed that dynasty.
And don’t forget Chelsea Clinton either.
P!
Has a nice ring to it.
We are probably better off when he doesn’t show up for work. At least we don’t have to worry about the Alamo being looted that day.
He’s cross-eyed. hahahaha
I read here some time ago, that President said his mother raised him on che.
P!
Has a nice ring to it.
I see it once in a while in Manhattan, from now on when I do I will think of lil’George.
Chelsea married the wrong guy. She should have married ‘P’.
The USA is a royalty-free zone. Did the Bush family learn nothing? Already sick of hearing about Chelsea and Ivanka as future candidates for POTUS.
P not president
Horse hockey. Pee won’t see a second term as TX Land Commissioner or even dog catcher. He’s just been elected to the office and likely has no clue where his office is since he’s done nothing but tag along behind Daddy this entire campaign. He’s stolen his taxpayer paid salary this whole time. Wish I could collect a check and not be within a thousand miles from the job. A real man would have stepped down.
Jesse Jackson predicted the end of the Bush era many years ago when he proclaimed..”Stay out da’ Bushes!” A few months ago I almost ran headlong into Jesse Jackson at O’hare. I so wanted to yell out.. Hey Jesse.. Stay out da’ Bushes! But alas, I let the moment fleet away.
He’s going to go down in some bit of corruption involving the Texas Railroad Commission before it gets that far.
TX people don’t know that George P. skips work a lot; who will tell them?
Oh please, can we just stop this nonsense !!!!
His primary opponent, David Watts, didn’t have the funding to contest the popular George P. Watts is now a non-Bush candidate for the Texas House in the March 1 primary. He faces a liberal Republican who is better known and a former mayor of Longview, once a conservative city.
Right, Chelsea and P. could have had the Carvilles as their example.
