Northern Nevadans are gathering at several locations right now to participate in the Republican caucus.
There are more than two dozen caucus locations across Reno.
In Carson City, doors opened at 4p.m. and organizers say they expect close to 1,500 people to participate in the caucus, at the Carson Nugget.
"The easiest thing about ours is that you can vote and leave we would like them all to stay for the precinct meetings but a lot of people work, they're just getting off work, they have kids at home it's just not something they're ready to do,â says Marti Cockell, Carson City Caucus Chairman.
Nearly 70 people are volunteering at the caucus inside the Carson Nugget.
Organizers have even made arrangements for representatives of the presidential candidates to be here to speak with today's participants.

Looks like very large turnout historically.
A buddy called me from line in Yerington, NV...laughed...and asked me why the hell he was standing in line in YERINGTON!
He's not seen anything like it there before, but he's only been there 17 years.
Saw on twitter Beck was talking on stage and Trump came in and Beck ran off crying
"Yerington is a city in Lyon County, Nevada, United States. The population was 3,048 at the 2010 census. It is named after Henry M. Yerington, Superintendent of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad from 1868 to 1910. Wikipedia"
“Carson Nugget, the Happiest Casino in the World!” From their old singing radio commercials.
I guess there are only two places to caucus in Yerington.
Terington is named after Henry Yerington???
Everyone.
Very few Sanders.
He hears no other names and sees no other bumper stickers.
Weird.
But the entire state outside the strip in Las Vegas is libertarian. Not Cruz country.
Of all the casinos in NV the Cason Nugget is the best. They even had a place to drop off the kids and a great coffee shop. Very friendly and I even won some money sometimes.
Carson Nugget is fun. Some 20 years ago, a friend of mine won $40,000 on a $1 slot there. I won $2,400 on a quarter slot a few years ago.
