In a piece that largely sympathizes with Irving Muslims who lived through last year's spectacle, Esquire's Colby Buzzell describes the neighborhood around the city's mosque as "a Muslim Beverly Hills. Enormous McMansions, one right after another, and each appears to belong to a Muslim family."
He talks to many of them. And despite the title of the piece, Esquire spends several pages exploring the Muslim experience in Irving's neighboring cities. In Richardson, for example, "a fair number of people in town walk around with 'Infidel' T- shirts on."

why do 40% of Muslim “Americans” wear hijabs, but members of other religious minorities don’t wear traditional garb in such large numbers? Hindus are almost never seen in traditional dress outside of parties. Fewer than 10% of Jews are hasidics. What is so evil about assimilation to the Islams?
He talks about SPLC as if it were a legitimate organization. Tells me all I need to know.
Gasp! Wearing “Infidel” on a shirt!
Really? That is a problem? People need to get over themselves.
And no mention of the Muslim Irving man a few years ago who murdered his three teenaged daughters, left them in a car by the DFW airport and fled the country to escape consequences of the honor killing.
And no mention of the Garland shooting where two Muslim men tried to kill those exiting the Pamela Gellar “Everybody draw Mohammed” content, won by an ex-Muslim atheist. And that was in 2015.
No mention of the Muslim man a couple years ago apprehended by the FBI for taking a car they loaded with false explosives to a building in downtown Dallas intending to become a suicide bomber.
No mention of the Amarillo Muslim who was collecting chemicals and supplies to make a bomb with maps of Dallas night clubs and President Bush’s address.
No mention of the first OR second Fort Hood shootings, the large military base only a couple hours south of here.
Only a happy talk about how prosperous Muslims are vaguely afraid.
