Joe: Cruz staffer firing tells me a lot
Newsmax ^ | 2/23/2016 | Joe Scarborough

Posted on 02/23/2016 5:16:48 PM PST by GilGil

"Ted Cruz's campaign is over," and it ended after Donald Trump beat him among evangelicals in South Carolina on Saturday, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough declared Tuesday morning.

"It ended in South Carolina when Donald Trump beat Ted Cruz among evangelicals after coming out in support of Planned Parenthood," the former lawmaker said on his "Morning Joe" talk show.

"Ted Cruz's campaign is over. Mark it down. He is not going to win the nomination. He may win Texas. It's over."

It wasn't just the South Carolina race that ended the Texas senator's campaign for the GOP presidential nomination, said Scarborough, but other incidents as well, including his decision on Monday to fire national spokesman Rick Tyler, who made a social media post of a video claiming that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio suggested to a Cruz staffer who was reading the Bible there "aren't many answers in it."

I would not put it past the establishment to have helped the decline of the Cruz campaign much like Romney did to Palin. They stacked her staff with saboteurs that set her up on multiple occasions. They have had years to plan it.

They just were not ready for Trump who blindsided them.

Look I bought Ted’s book, I believed. Ted lied “principled” died. Trump never pretended to be anything else but what he was.

I don’t know what to think, being a Trump supporter and supporting him like I do, I don’t know who he is going to pick for what position...I think he gave Cruz a chance to come clean on his birther, (and I know that sends people into orbit but) and Cruz hasn’t done anything about it, I think that and the ‘misstatements’ by the Cruz campaign and doing what he did to Mr. Carson has Trump turned off...

Scary right now to say to much of anything, those are just IMHO’s....

Cruz didn’t fire him, he asked him to resign.

A leader would have fired him, a follower would ask for resignation.

Ted Cruz is just another bought and paid for politician. Now his big money donors see that he isn’t going to give them a good rate of return so they’re about to bail on him. Game over Ted.

Those Trump zealots are less prolific than the Cruzbots

They are busy bees no doubt because given Doughty Ones voting booth Trump had majority support here yet the Trump Sux posts here are by far the most numerous

What’s that quote?

Though doth protest too much methinks

... I would love to see Trump pick Cruz as his running mate or nominate him to the Supreme Court, but I think that relationship is probably permanently tainted....

Ted and Trump are finished. No VP for Ted. Can you imagine Hillary’s ads against Trump with videos of the back and forth animosity between them. But, Trump could put him on SCOTUS and maintain a straight face.

You are correct. Despite Cruz^s attacks on his party^s donor class and establishment, the Texas senator Ted Cruz^s GOP campaign has received $37 million from just four donors.

The Wilks family of Cisco, Texas, New York hedge fund tycoon Bob Mercer, Texas energy investor Toby Neugebauer and Illinois manufacturing moguls Dick and Liz Uihlein.

It’s a simple question. You are all over FR bashing Cruz for lying. Have some integrity, don’t be a hypocritical hack and show me where you did the same for trumps lies. Has. Itching to do with Cruz or cruz’ book. Has everything to do with you and your response to lies. So are you a hypocritical hack or are you a man of integrity....show us.

The problem with that is that Ted himself tells lies, half truths, and misrepresentations. Not his staff, Ted himself. He’s paid the consequences for that in NH and SC.

Ted’s lying has everything to do with his book. The title was “A Time For Truth”. Does that mean lies??

Big problem with your post. You have to win 8 states to be the nominee.

If Trump is so bad, how does it feel to be beaten by somebody who is so bad? Your candidate did not win a SINGLE COUNTY in evangelical rich South Carolina. That has got to hurt?

No hate friend. Just a simple question to every trumpeter who goes from thread to thread to thread squawking about Cruz’ lying. If ones sensibilities are so offended, obviously they should be able to produce where they were offended by trumps lies. Otherwise their faux outrage shows them to be hypocritical hacks and nothing more.
