Former Sen. Bob Dole, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, along with three senators and a coterie of members of the House all endorsed Rubio just two days after former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush ended his bid for president, after a poor showing in South Carolina.
While Bush had struggled in the race and failed to keep up with Rubio's poll numbers, he had a strong hold on a number of party elders and endorsers. Others stayed on the sidelines so as not to pick between the two Floridians. With Bush out of the way, many were quick to back Rubio.
"Now that my good friend Jeb Bush is no longer running, I'm supporting Rubio," Dole told ABC's "Political Powerhouse" podcast on Monday.
"I think it comes down to this -- he's strong, he's also informed, he's conservative, and he's electable, and he can unite the party, and you can't ask for much more than that," Pawlenty told CNN's Alisyn Camerota on "New Day."
"I think he's got the total package, and I think he's going to bring forward the strongest voice, the strongest image, and really the most thoughtful and informed strong view about how to move this country forward from a conservative perspective," he said.
Rubio also picked up the support of three Senate colleagues on Monday: former Bush-backer and Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake and North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis.

all rinos..just proves what ruby really is
More endorsements from losers. LOL. It’s amazing how they are so willing to thwart the will of the voters.
Kiss of death.
More links on the anchor chain that is already drowning him.
Here’s hoping the weight of all that establishment bloat sinks him straight to the bottom.
No doubt. I guess they think this is effective in a year where the majority want nothing to do with the old establishment players. Seems tone deaf to me. Maybe picking up one or two might have made sense but this looks terrible. At least his SC endorsements have been base favorites over time. Tim Scott, Gowdy and the governor were all tea party darlings and maintain some level of popularity. Dole, Pawlenty and TIllis. None at all. Mostly punchlines or clear GOPe no-nothings.
Time to start tracking Jeb’s SuperPac donors. Watch some migrate to Rubio real soon......
Madame DeFarge just keeps knitting away.
LOL while the Duke was a Harvard lawyer, he did serve two years in Korea in the US Army.
GOP-e is scared.
These are all hard core Bush supporters who just moved to their only remaining hope.
Jeb has cut a deal with Rubio for a Cabinet Seat if his supporters moved to Rubio Camp.
BTW, these are the same people who backed Charlie Crist when the Tea Party pushed for Rubio.
The same Congress that only 14% of the American people think is doing a good job?
Yep, that one...
The Rubo didn’t win in Iowa, NH and SC and with all those ‘endorsements’ he should own the bank...
any Foreign national will do for the office of Presidency of the USA.
Let’s just keep the Citizens away from having a voice in their own country. No wonder they are all flocking to Rubio. He’s too lazy to show up to vote in Congress. He’s pro immigration, and most of all..........he’ll do exactly what they tell him.
GO TRUMP!!!
If there was any doubt before, we now KNOW who Rubio represents!
Why the heck did Christie drop out early. He had Rubio beaten to a pulp.
Rubio said, âWe canât win if we nominate someone, if we nominate someone that half of the Republican Party hates. We are going to be fighting against each other all the way to November. I donât care how much you may think theyâre funny or how interesting they may sound. If we nominate someone that 40 to 50 percent of our party canât stand, we are going to lose.â
Why are they endorsing someone that is DROPPING OUT OF THE RACE??
Well at least according to his OWN WORDS, remember 4 out of 5 Republicans REJECTED RUBIO in EVERY PRIMARY SO FAR
RUBIO PLEASE DROP OUT, for the sake of the Party. I realize you are young and not too smart but 4 out of 5 is LARGER than 50%, SO STOP DESTROYING THE PARTY AND QUIT.
Maybe he got paid-off.
Maybe Trump supporters should consider turning their fabled wrath on Rubio instead of Ted Cruz.
