Venezuela: Opposition Claims Gov’t Hiding Up to 500,000 Zika Cases

Venezuelan opposition legislator José Manuel Olivares claims the country has under-reported cases of the Zika virus and the country lacks necessary medical supplies to properly combat the outbreak sweeping the region.

“I hope that President Nicolas Maduro will not continue putting policy and ideology before the health and life of Venezuelans,” he declared.

The Zika virus is a real threat. My son’s co-worker went to S. America last week on vacation and came back with it.

There were stories floating around last week that it actually came from something they were using in the water to halt mosquito proliferation. Meanwhile, there are hundreds of thousands of Lyme cases being diagnosed in the US (not ounting the cases that are misdiagnosed as MS, Parkinsons.Als and a host of others that can also be passed on to babies inutero and by sexual transmission and the US government refuses to acknowledge how devastating and widespread it is. AND they refuse to give much money to research. Every year, more cases than AIDS and breast cancer. But Zyka has got the media attention
