Trump’s Yuuge Lies
National Review ^ | February 23, 2016 | Ian Tuttle

Posted on 02/23/2016 5:53:47 AM PST by reaganaut1

Among South Carolina Republicans who preferred above all else a candidate “who tells it like it is,” 77 percent voted for Donald J. Trump.

That is astonishing, given that Donald Trump’s entire life has been an extended exercise in deception.

Start with his wealth. How much is Donald Trump worth? $1.7 billion? $6 billion? “TEN BILLION DOLLARS,” as he claimed in his presidential filing? Tim O’Brien, then a reporter for the New York Times, wrote in his book TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald, that in one 24-hour period, Trump claimed two different net worths differing by $3.3 billion. He has never permitted an independent, third-party audit of his finances. The closest anyone has come is Deutsche Bank, which in 2005 estimated that Trump was worth . . . $788 million. Several sources with knowledge of Trump’s finances have put the number significantly lower.

And Trump has admitted to lying about his wealth. “Have you ever exaggerated in statements about your properties?” he was asked during a deposition in the mid 2000s. “I think everyone does,” Trump replied. “Does that mean that sometimes you’ll inflate the value of your properties in your statements?” the lawyer followed up. Trump: “Not beyond reason.”

...

Then there are Trump’s lies about his personal life.

How was it that the star athlete at the New York Military Academy received a deferment for bone spurs in both heels? And how is it that those maladies seem to have disappeared, a miracle otherwise unknown in medical history?

Presumably Trump’s affair with Marla Maples during his marriage to his first wife involved some serious deception, as did the affairs he claims to have had with married women. (Or is he lying about those affairs?)

How come Nevada never FOUGHT for their own lands, if it was theirs to begin with!

National Review just won't give up, will they?

You want the flagship conservative publication putting out lies like the rest of the MSM? Pursuit of the truth has this tendency to make one dogged.

Neither will the Trump bashers as they roll like dogs on what comes out of National Review nowadays.

Please explain how "what comes out of National Review nowadays" is false, with sources. Thanks.

I prefer to call him Mr. President!
Cruz will never be President! As the FEC is calling, and here’s a nice 84-page “query” on apparent irregularities in your FEC reports, including donations that facially exceed contribution limits, contributions from apparent foreign nationals and other organizations that facially appear to be illegal along with “travel” expenses that were not itemized as required.

About 4 months ago I read a piece that had his fluid cash assets at about $70-80 million. For him to self finance a billion dollar campaign he would have to borrow almost all of it, or have a fire sale on his properties to raise cash. He already has huge loans outstanding, and there is talk that he does not have enough equity in his holdings to do the deal.

In 2015, Trump raked in $71 million from condo sales and collects $41.9 million in rental income on just his buildings annually alone. Trump’s stock portfolio is valued somewhere between $33.4 million and $87.9 million stock diversified with hundreds of enterprises in variety of industries. Trump also owns a wide variety of other enterprises outside real estate which have an estimated value of US $317.6 million. Go Trump go:-)

Sorry, bub - but when a magazine devotes an entire issue to bashing Trump, they have shown their true stripes. Trump is a threat to the NR vision of cheap labor and one-sided trade deals. So I am sure they believe what they write about Trump is ‘true’ to their worldvision - but that is a worldvision that is running around looking to screw over persons like me, a 55 year old IT worker fighting off drives to massively increase H-1B visas.

I'd prefer to call him an insecure bully and paranoid narcissist.

Worse, challenge a bully and you always find a coward.

You want the flagship conservative publication ....

Flagship conservative? Since when. NR loved Romney and McCain. Until they started going after Trump, they were considered a RINO rag on this site. But now, they are almost as saintly as the Teddy Bear. Just like the Cruzaders new hero, Glen Beck.

Now, the "reporter with disability" - wasn't he one of the NY Times posse that went up to Wasilla and ended up mocking Sarah Palin over her little boy with Down's Syndrome?

Sorry, bub - but when a magazine devotes an entire issue to bashing Trump, they have shown their true stripes.

In other words, you don't have anything showing what was said was false. Maybe it's just possible that they regarded a Democrat in drag running as a conservative was that big of a problem? I do.

Trump is a threat to the NR vision of cheap labor and one-sided trade deals.

As opposed to trade deals for the benefit of cronies? Like when Trump imported Polish illegal aliens to do the demolition for his Tower, worked them 12-7 for $4-5 an hour without gloves, hard hats, or masks, and then stiffed them at the end? You trust that guy to do trade deals that benefit America instead of his friends? The guy is in the hotel, casino, and consrtuction businesses. He employs HORDES of illegals or he'd be broke.

So I am sure they believe what they write about Trump is 'true' to their worldvision - but that is a worldvision that is running around looking to screw over persons like me, a 55 year old IT worker fighting off drives to massively increase H-1B visas.

What if it IS true? See above. Trump will screw anybody he doesn't need. When his touchback amnesty gives 11-15 million illegals amnesty, he won't need conservatives any more. He can then run for a second term as the Democrat he always has been. If you think for one second that once the illegals are out (as unlikely as that scenario is), he and his ilk won't write job specifications that exclude Americans by expecting Spanish fluency, you are quite mistaken.

As for Cruz and H-1B, he has tied the number to the sector unemployment level and promised to prosecute anyone who violates the original principles of the program.

BTW, I am not a "Cruz supporter." I was backing Gilmore, the only conservative running with both military and administrative experience who had been kicked out of the RNC for refusing to back RINOs at the expense of conservatives. You'll note that, unlike Trump, he got ZERO air time. Trump's their boy.

So far, the only “wall” Donald Trump has built is a “Wall of Lies”. Still, it’s a very impressive wall and, if this is any indication of his wall-building skill, then, hey, even that can be spun into an asset.

You’ve earned your screen name. If you’ve ever read her policy papers (I have), you would note that she is no globablist. People really do work for companies with which they have disagreements. I have. Have you?
