Not even native son Gov. John Kasich can stop the Donald Trump steamroller as Kasich falls behind the Republican front-runner 31-26 percent among Ohio likely Republican primary voters, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is at 21 percent with Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 13 percent and Dr. Ben Carson at 5 percent.
I think Ohio voters mean loyalty but also realize its selfish to cast a vote for one when voting for another is more greatly important and needed for the whole country.
Trump is like an insolvable equation for the GOPe (as well as the other contenders). He just keeps warping the laws of political gravity, and if he beats Kasich in Ohio come the real polls (and Cruz in Texas / Rubio in Florida) that will be a rout like none other.
Ouch! That’s gonna leave a mark.
Wait till he embarrasses Ted in TX and anchor baby Marco in FL !
And the poll was taken before Trump won South Carolina.
Kasich watch ping list
I agree 100%. Most of the Trump supporters I encounter are blue collar right leaning, no party affiliation folks. They vote only in the General Election but most have not voted in years.
The Trump team has been organizing in Ohio for about a month and the volunteers are just common ordinary folks. Trump already has HQ open in some areas. Ohioâs Primary is not until March 15.
I live in a heavy Republican area of Northwest Ohio-about 110,000 population. August 2015, we did a poll at our county fair, Trump won 2-1. His support is only getting stronger.
Kasich is my governor and a good guy. He is so peaceful as a matter of fact, that he would try to use peace, love, and understanding to deal with ISIS, Putin, and Clinton.
I think he’d get steamrolled.
But the man you’re seeing right now is really who he is.
Not sure it’s even that close. I’ve learned this season to take these contests one day at a time. Let’s get a yuuuuge victory today in Nevada and then move on from there. Looking for the 3 peat today. Go Trump! Make America Great Again!
Trump should give it a good effort in Ohio but go all in for Florida. That is the key prize March 15.
Sometimes the locals know the hometown boys the best and thus act accordingly.....
Technically, Kasich isn’t a “native” son of Ohio.
He was born in Western PA.
“anchor baby Marco” - has a nice...ring to it.
Maybe it’ll catch on - good one.
He is my governor too, and doing a rather good job. He has the office until 2018, so, he won’t be without a job like say - Marco Rubio who will go to the highest bidder. Kasich is weak on common core and illegals, but, strong on other issues. No scandals or dirt that I know of. Like you said - a good guy.
He would be a terrible President for these times. However based on your endorsement. He sounds like he would make a Good Pope! :)

Amen brother. That’s the truth for sure in Ohio! We have a balanced budget in Ohio, in fact a surplus, but few are happy about the way Kasich did it. Increased Medicaid but Kasich devastated the local government funds.
The museums, libraries, counties, townships and small cities are just scraping by. Unemployment is still very high and the economy is very sluggish. We have lost most of our manufacturing jobs. The casinos & fracking industry are the salvation for most small locals.
However, the Goodwill Stores, McDonald’s, Dollar Stores and food pantries are booming!
The “he’ll get steamrolled” endorsement will take him far! :>)
But he really is a nice guy. He’s Episcopal I think. He’d make a great Archbishop of Canterbury.
If they can't take their own states, why are they in the race?
My mistake. Thought he was Catholic. Archbishope it is then. Im a Trump guy, but many of the younger people I work for like Kasich. Funny because being in Michigan they make it a point to say I cant believe Im supporting a Buckeye! Lol.
