Deliberate target, or not, the taxi unions don’t appreciate the competition that Uber brings and this ‘Uber-shooting’ angle benefits the union.

I did misunderstand your post.We have 3 in the family and your right they keep it to themselves.
This is going on all the time. Tell your loved ones NOT to check the organ removal on licenses and to leave clear instructions to leave body intact.
You cannot believe the organ ghouls who show up after an accident. This is their living, making money for surgeons and hospitals. Any death at any hospital requires that the ghouls be called immediately so they can determine the deceased’s value to the medical/insurance/government industrial complex.
Also know that when organs are removed from a person to donate to another, the person whose organs are removed, is not anesthetized, so if they are cogent at what ever level, they are aware that they are being slowly and painfully killed.
This is not unusual, in the 50’s and 60’s babies routinely had surgery without anesthesia because it was too dangerous to give it.

your scenario is just as bad - even without organ harvesting. The girl lived despite the medical care she received. If mom wasn’t there, she’d be dead. These folks were salivating at the thought of a young womans organs being brought to market.
I’ll be their protocols will now include removing the mom from the room as soon as possible so they can get the organs without being bothered with things like a patient being alive.
I sympathize with folks in need of transplant organs.
They are, out of their own necessity, placed on the demand side of a system that profits greatly from, even encourages the deaths of others. We should be honest about this and admit that Hospitals harvest organs for profit. That means that you have to question whether they will act to preserve life every time - if they can profit from someones organs if they simply withhold treatment and allow “natural death” as you say happened in this case.
If this girl ever recovers, what’s the chance she’ll voluntarily be an organ donor I wonder?
It’s a moral grey area - as this specific instance proves.
I remember Governor Casey getting an organ to take to the grave shortly after getting it.
A younger person with a better match to the organs probably joined him.
I once had a lover in bed that seemed to be dead. She had no signs of life other than body temperature and being very pretty.
So many distasteful comments, disgusting. Prayers for her, she may have just been saved by the Lord himself. God bless her.
Thank you for your reply. I was on what is considered a large department so the experiences of people just across our department could vary greatly. The cultures of different departments even in our own region also varied greatly. Since I was on our hazmat team we participated in many regional drills with the military and distant departments. I interacted with a lot of people from other places. There are many similarities, but sometimes the way we looked at handling the same problems was completely opposite.
All I am trying to reinforce is that sometimes the experiences of those even in the same field can vary greatly.

Well my son was at the busiest company in the US.My other son was Hazmat.One went to 9/11 for cleanup and traveled the US in first in companies when needed .My Husband fell off a 3 story building and broke his back his arm and his leg.Our children were 4-3 and 1 at the time.Expected to die.He had the last rite for the Catholic Church 2 times on the fire department because of injuries.All of them are Officers.Wait I have to add more cause yours is longer.My son got bite by a snake aiding a dying person in Louisiana during a storm and was poked by a dirty needle.We lost many Souls on the fire department and in just this last year 2 committed suicide .Both friends of my one son.None of them saw people come back to life .Don’t talk down to me.
I can’t tell if you are joking or what. It was our department’s SOP never to trust the police to make the determination whether someone was dead or not. That is because they made mistakes in the past and will continue to make mistakes. In my experience the police told us several times in 25 years that someone was dead when they were not.
I am sorry if my telling you of my experiences was somehow insulting to you. Being a firefighter’s wife can be very tough. My wife was very happy when I retired. I went through my share of tough stuff and was burned and injured more than once and had some very close calls. I have never told her of most the close calls because I knew she worried a lot as it was.
