GOP frontrunner Donald Trump went after GOP rival Sen. Ted Cruz for missing a Senate vote on a bill that would have audited the Federal Reserve.
"It is so important to audit The Federal Reserve, and yet Ted Cruz missed the vote on the bill that would allow this to be done," Trump posted on Twitter on Monday afternoon.
Cruz missed a vote on legislation in the Senate that reportedly would have audited the Federal Reserve, as the Guardian noted, as did former Rep. Ron Paul to campaign for his son Sen. Rand Paul.
Paul referenced Cruz's missed vote, previously telling Iowans, "That's not the type of leadership we need in the White House."
Ben Jacobs, a reporter for the British newspaper The Guardian, reported Cruz has attempted to gather support from libertarian minded Republicans. "However, by skipping the vote on auditing the Fed, Cruz risks jeopardizing some of the credibility he has built in [the libertarian] faction of the Republican party. Auditing the Federal Reserve has long been an animating cause of Paul and his supporters and it has taken on major symbolic significance," Jacobs wrote.

Do not ever underestimate the skullduggery against Cruz in the Senate. They hate him enough to do whatever they can to discredit him.
They hate Cruz BECAUSE HE HOLDS THEM ACCOUNTABLE .. AND THEY DON’T LIKE IT. SO, LIKE SPOILLED LITTLE CHILDREN, THEY EXACT THEIR REVENGE.
Anybody wanna take any best ..???????????????
I understand ... I will say this , what Trump has said and done regarding Cruz is just a fraction of what the Dims/MSM would do to him ...if we think they were horrible to Palin , what they would do to Cruz will pale in comparison ..hopefully you will go for Trump (the stronger the showing the better against the GOPe) , but if not I can respect that
It’s the Fed’s monetary policy decisions that aren’t audited. The money is all audited and accounted for. It’s just Congress barred the congressional accounting office from auditing the decision making process. So deliberations about policy and the decisions themselves are off limits. That was to keep it from becoming a political football.
But all the transactions are audited and accounted for.
Ted Cruz is a good Senator. I would like him to stay in Senate.
They were 7 votes short of the needed 60 votes and it wouldn’t have mattered if Cruz voted or not.
Well, this is what legislators do, isn’t it? “Legislating”?
Passing or voting down laws? If they don’t vote, then they’re not doing their jobs. Trump somehow manages to do his job while he’s beating the Cuban lawyer legislators like pygmy rattlers. And financing his own campaign.
Right now, the Cubans’ and George P’s attitude seems to be ...
Answer: “Then I’d be a damn fool to think any differently.”
Q: What if ALL of you blew off voting and doing stuff?”
Do your dam jobs.
It looks like his one vote would not have changed things on this vote at this time.
I can’t believe that I am the first to say AS LONG AS OBAMA IS IN OFFICE IT IS A MEANINGLESS VOTE.
NOT ME !!!!!
i like both of them....honestly.
It makes it hard when you really want your guy to win and see him start falling apart. And that is what I am seeing.
My wife just says that there is something about Cruz that is not genuine. Maybe she is right...since he is seemingly running a messy campaign.
I’m not sure what you were addressing with that.
My post that it was too didn’t seem to warrant that response.
Perhaps you were trying to address someone else or another post of mine.
Twitter isn’t my thing. A lot of people use it. It’s not just limited to kids. A lot of Conservative folks have connections through it.
I just think it’s important to think long and hard before you toss something out on a whim and then want to pull it back.
So, the Fed gets audited, and its determined we only have 20% of the Gold reserves claimed, and the rest of the foundation on which the Fed conducts business is a total fraud.
Then what?
trump is the only one in the race that understand the Fed. He said the economy is currently in a big fat bubble and would like to see it pop before he get into office because he know he will get blamed for it if it happen after
Uh...how close was the vote?
Were they within 10 votes of passing?
If not, don’t bother us with nonsense.
And in how many of those votes was there less than a 10 vote margin?
And Trump supporters are still cheering.
Meanwhile the GOPe may just grab this nomination yet.
If I was Trump, I would be going after Cruz also. After all, this is a competition. Right?
Same with the communist Sanders. Of course, Leftist still want full political, centralized control and planning of the money supply. They want the central bank to have even more power - its just that they just want it all for themselves and the state, and want Wall Street cut out of the deal.
I like Cruz too but he is imploding ..trust your wife’s intuition on this - women tend to have uncanny instincts when it comes to detecting ulterior motives ...it’s not really Cruz’s fault , but the powers that be infiltrated his sphere ... I truly hope that the Cruz folks will unite and jump on the Trump train to help us defeat the GOPe/Dims/MSM ... we need you Cruzers
