I wonder if the meltdown of his campaign after the necessity of firing his campaign chair will still be hurting just a little more than a week on 1 March, the SEC primary in which TEXAS will be voting.

If Cruz can’t take his home state he is in trouble

If Ted Cruz doesn’t win Texas, it’s all over for him.
If Trump carries Texas, Cruz should withdraw, pledge his support to Trump and Trump should declare that Cruz will be his pick for the SCOTUS.

Texas will be close. Very close.
Rubio might be a spoiler for Cruz.
He certainly wont take any votes from Trump.

Texas’ rules make it an unrewarding primary for delegates to boot.

All I know is I’ve received two emails....on private email accounts....from CRuz, today, pleading to help make phone bank calls from the GOP offices. Hubby has received the same email, on a private email account.
Trump has sent one message, several weeks ago....to the email addy I gave him when I donated....to make calls from the comfort of my home.
Wonder what the early voting turnout has been, in TX, for Pubbies.

I think Cruz was showing a respectable sense of humility that the voters, not politicians will decided Texas. I don’t think this suggest any doubt on his part just a smart sense of humility.

Wait, an infamous “INTERNAL POLL!” Are all the Cruzers going to cite this in every thread the way they did the bogus SC “internal poll?”
Just making a point. I still think Cruz wins his home state.

That's pretty close to "I have my doubts".
It does tell me that there's something in the wind and it's not good.
Don't forget, he IS a Senator....who has neglected his duty and rarely shows up in the Senate. Most folks don't like stuff like that.
To: xzins
Granted, it is anecdotal info, but friends & family in Texas are NOT for Cruz, even though they were for him when he ran for the Senate seat.
So from what little I know, yes, Cruz IS in trouble in Texas.

Even Fritz “LizardLids” Mondale took Minnesota.
Of course that was it.

I think Cruz was showing a respectable sense of humility that the voters, not politicians will decided Texas. I donât think this suggest any doubt on his part just a smart sense of humility. Cruz's team was boasting he'd win New Hampshire, that Trump's support wasn't real, and then was claiming he'd win South Carolina.
So now Cruz is humble huh
To: QuinqueViae
Oh, did not know that. Then you’re right. It won’t matter much.

It really doesnât matter for much other than bragging rights. Texas awards delegates proportionally.
In other words, Cruz has a lot to lose and Trump has a lot to win.
If Cruz loses it looks bad for Cruz.
If Cruz wins, he is just doing what should be expected on his home turf.

Why? What does Trump have to gain in doing that?

I think there must be an impact from firing your national campaign director for dirty tricks. And Texas is just a week away.
