Abutting the land Trump hoped to develop were four residences owned and occupied by locals not inclined to move: David Milne, Susan Munro, Michael Forbes, and then-octogenarian Molly Forbes (whose home was on Michaelâs land). Trump wanted them out. The tactics he employed toward that end mirrored Vera Cokingâs case almost exactly.
Two properties provoked Trumpâs particular ire. David Milneâs home, in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, was built in 1954. It was then a Coast Guard station, occupying the same spot on which another Coast Guard station had stood, going back to the 1860s. Trump thought it was an eyesore. Likewise a house and several outbuildings owned by Michael Forbes, a salmon fisherman who had left school at 14 to learn his trade, and whose family had lived in the area for several generations. âHis property is terribly maintained,â Trump told reporters. âItâs slum-like, itâs disgusting. Heâs got stuff thrown all over the place. He lives like a pig.â
So, in early 2009, Trump approached the Aberdeenshire Council to suggest that Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) be served to several Menie landowners. CPOs are the United Kingdomâs version of eminent domain, allowing the government to seize private property for public use. The council deferred, pending an inquiry.

Then they *should* love Trump.
:)
Now, now, don’t go confusing the little dears with the facts.
It's this type of character flaw that will turn the majority against him in the general. His followers will ignore this cruel bullying behavior just as they have embraced the Rat talking points for obamacare to support his belief in the individual mandate. We see one red flag after another, but it doesn't slow him down because people are so angry.
It's a shame we seem to blowing another great opportunity to reestablish conservatism as the dominant political belief in this country.
I'm sticking with Cruz. He believes what I believe and he has always stuck by me.
I've heard other similar stories about him around the county... not one story from anyone painted him as being anything but fair and completely generous in his dealings around here.
Since these stories were being told BEFORE he entered politics, I tend to believe them more than these articles in publications which clearly have an anti-Trump (anti-anything other than liberal/socialist actually) agenda.
"Next time......Definitely!"
Rumor has it that Trump, once elected, will use executive order and eminent domain to take the entire Island of Hawaii and turn it into Mara Largo II.
yeah, you’d think that, but then we have Trump, anything goes.

3.
Here you go.
Gullible? Ted Cruz wanted to quintuple the number of H-1B visas. Trump's stance made Ted walk that back.
As a 55 year old IT worker, Trump's campaign has already paid dividends for me, even if he never even gets the nomination, as H-1B visas are probably the greatest threat to my livihood.
If you see that as gullible, well, go p*** up a rope.
DEADOOLER’S perhaps.
Hit piece! Because Jeb is bad, it doesn’t matter what Trump is!
It wasn’t just his bullying attempt to take over the property, it was his utter disdain for the ‘little’ people occupying it.
All the ‘little’ people who think Trump loves them should think again.

1. Obama
2. Clinton
There ya go.
Contradiction in terms.
National Review hates conservatives.
National Review hates Donald Trump.
I totally agree. People latched onto Trump because he expressed their rage.
It’s time to get over that initial infatuation and look at who Donald Trump is.
You mean the Big Island?
Hope he doesn’t take over Maui.
Although Maui would make a really huge golf course.
Sorry, I asked a specific question. You answered your own question, not mine.
How about Clinton and Obama reclassifying Federal Lands Use to prevent Low Sulphur Coal Mining in Utah and other States?
This is in another country. Did Trump follow the law there?
