Fall of the House of Bush: How last name and Donald Trump doomed Jeb
Washington Post ^ | 2/21/16 | Ed O'Keefe, Dan Balz and Matea Gold

For Jeb Bush's campaign, August was a cruel month. Donald Trump's attacks on the former Florida governor as a "low-energy" politician were beginning to stick, and the two were bickering over immigration. The issue before the Bush team was what to do about it.

-snip-

Mike Murphy, the chief strategist for Bush's super PAC, Right to Rise, explained what had happened this way on Sunday. "Our theory was to dominate the establishment lane into the actual voting primaries," he said. "That was the strategy, and it did not work. I think it was the right strategy for Jeb. The problem was there was a huge anti-establishment wave. The establishment lane was smaller than we thought it would be. The marketplace was looking for something different, and we'll find out how that ends when we have a nominee."

The result is one of the most startling failures in the modern history of American politics: the fall of the House of Bush.

They may have gotten it right here, but I don't give a damn about this rabid leftist sewer piece of crap. May this worthless rag fall fast and take Bezos with it. Good riddance for all your “objective” reporting in the past and take your offspring Politico with you. No one will shed any tears save for your commie employees.

I don't think Jeb wanted to run in the first place and yes he didn't show much 'energy'. However looking at some real energy the rise of Trump....from an article in the New Yorker comes this: ""What is Donald Trump?" The answer?
A giant middle finger from average Americans to the political and media establishment.

Tinkerbell could not beat Hillary and nor can Rubio....I believe Donald Trump can; I am sure willing to give him the chance.

Trump took down Bush while being the voice of the teeming masses of the angry Republican base. Both Trump and the base deserve the credit. Trump is the number one target of the GOPe. The Grand Old Party became the Grey Old Party. It is about to become the something Grand again, but not Old.

Just arrogance and a short view.

Thank fully, when that guy from CNBC got the TEA Party idea started, we took the long view and worked on state givernments, as well, Congress and the Senate.

Would be great to pick up a few more wins this year and take the White House with Cruz.

But, I’ll go for a Trump Prez/Cruz SCOTUS, which would be everlasting....

When Bush announced he didn/t need the base to win.....conservatives knew that was the result of the elder Bushes demeaning and deploring conservatives in their elite party.

Jeb was tasked w/ the job to silence them....and failed....thus adding to his epic failures.

Jeb/s abject stupidity...bringing in GWB to pump his losing campaign....proved to the death knell for Jeb/s WH ambitions. The sight of GWB rekindled the worst aspects of the Iraq invasion.

====================================

.....Colin Powell asserts in his new 2016 book: "there would have been no Iraq war" had then-Pres GWB and his councilors understood that Hussein did not possess any functioning unconventional weapons. Powell lauded the fact that under Bush we got rid of the horrific Hussein government and toppled the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.....

ANALYSIS Which just goes to show the US still hasn/t figured out the fervid Mideast mindset to this day. Its thousand-year-old sectarian internecine warfare was kept in check by strongmen like Saddam and Khadafi. Now these savages are marauding all over Europe.....and are coming here to kill us for what we did in Iraq.

POINTS TO PONDER

<><> Powell never mentions that the conniving Mideast types calculated the advantage of having a superpower in their midst....and they cashed in bigtime.

<><> The US gamely decided to train the indigenous population....it cost us billions and we managed to train 4-5 or so over five years.

<><> In the US we take them off the farm, send them to boot camp, and in 3 weeks we got soldiers.

<><> The Bank of Kabul where the CIA and DOD deposited billions to finance the war was a withdrawal-only goldmine for insiders.

<><> For public consumption, the US said we went into Iraq to show them the advantages of democracy and to get all warm and cuddly as they embraced it.

(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)

Remember this Colin? The war profiteering was outrageous. Neocon godfather Richard Perle relaxing in Paris (above the fray---nowhere near his cohorts plotting in the WH Office of Special Ops) got so rich w/ insider info, he was reported to be starting his own oil company.

<><> One last thing, Colin.....GWB estimated the Iraq strike would cost $50-60 billion.......then an angry Bush fired advisor Larry Lindsey because Lindsay dared to say the war might cost more like $100 billion.

That was in 2007 dollars.

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY Iraq and Afghanistan today have cost the US some $3 TRILLION....and rivers of young blood. We/re still pouring US tax dollars into those decrepit Mideast countries, and..... as Donald says....we got NOTHING in return.

BTW, look who controls most of the Iraqui oil fields today.

“Sally Bradshaw, Bush’s chief strategist and confidant, said Sunday in an email: “It would be difficult for any solutions-oriented conservative to tackle Trump in this environment ...”

Sally STILL doesn’t get it! Jeb Bush is NOT a conservative, but simply the the latest pro-illegal-immigration, cave-in-to-whatever-the-”Progressives”-demand tool of the RINO GOP establishment AND the voters knew that even it she didn’t.

Don’t leave out Rubio. You’ve just witnessed a great Oedipal political drama. GOP moderate sells a new coalition, one that can win by bringing in Hispanics...grooms a few young Hispanic pols...gets cut out by his own hometown understudy.

His last name didn’t doom hin so much as it gave him a chance to spend over $100 million of donors money to find out what anyone on this board could have told him for $25 bucks. That is - he ain’t nothin but a rino Martin O’Malley.
What a loser.

A whole lot people should be hanging from lampposts for what they’ve done to our country over the last 25 years.

It was more his desire to turn the USA into North Mexico.

The voters are not interested in abandoning the rule of law and surrendering their country to illegal aliens and their employers.

The looks on Ralph Kramden’s face are priceless as the tension builds. Funny Stuff.

I didn't have anything to do with editing. Just passed it along for laughs.

My only fear is that Drumph will usher in more big Government

Your fears are unfounded.

As a businessman, Trump is going to carve the government down to an effective size by getting rid of all waste. That will be part of his legacy.
