COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) â Donald Trump has emerged as the front-runner for the GOP nomination by winning over roughly a third of Republicans in the early voting states and in preference polls, packing his rallies with men and women, evangelical Christians and military veterans, blue-collar workers and wealthy retirees.

We've certainly come a long was since Lazio was pilloried for daring to even approach Her Royal Thighness!
“Exactly, Trump expands the map. Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, even NY come into play.”
No other GOP candidate does this and yet none of those candidates, their followers or the GOP establishment (redundant I guess) give Trump credit for the fact he is opening up these fronts....
All they do is criticize. Ungrateful!
Of course if he makes it that far he can beat Hillary. This race is for Republicans to lose! My dog should be able to beat Hillary.
If Cruz wins the primary, he could beat Hillary, too. So could Rubio, or even Bush if he'd been able to pull it off for that matter. ANY republican (if they didn't do something stupid) could beat Hillary.
None of those numbers are intimidating. I think Trump can easily overcome those odds.
Why would a Cruz beat a Clinton and not a Trump I ask? Thank-you for your reponse.
“Hillary is many things but she ainât LBJ.”
Yeah, and unlike LBJ, she doesn’t have anyone’s pecker in her pocket. Probably doesn’t really care either!
My sentiments exactly.
Click on that photo and check out what the polls say... or go to realclearpolitics.... Trump does worse than Cruz against against clinton

Exactly. Trump is not the perfect candidate, but he can win and his strength are ability to close the border and understanding business principles. I can just see him bringing in people to manage departments that will stop the ridiculous spending. I also think the bully pulpit against the lobbyist control of Washington is important. Who else could even begin to do all of that?
So.....70% of all Republicans claim they could never vote for Trump (according to Sunday talk shows) yet 86% claim he cold win? Polls are funny things....
That of course, presupposes Cruz can win the nomination. Kinda evident that he can't. He did not win ONE county in SC...
How so?
Where does Ted come up with the 270 EVs?
These polls ignore the Electoral College
The other candidate have to tread lightly because they have to be politically correct most all the time...They are politicians...That’s their livelihood...
Trump is NOT a politician...He doesn’t care about political correctness...That’s what most like about him....
I take the RCP polls with a “little grain of salt”.
The only real poll that counts is on Primary/Election Days.
Thinking it and it actually happening are two entirely different things.
The trajectory of Trumps campaign has been upward, winning by 15 and 10 points in NH & SC respectively.
The key is not Stupid Tuesday, but the March 15 contests which are mostly closed and winner take all. A win there even if it’s by one point, is still a win and Trump ends up with the all delegates just the same.
So even if Trump has theoretically hit a ceiling, he may have enough headway to win the nomination outright.
We’ll see.
How many of these “Sunday Talk Shows” are republican/conservative based shows?
And a growing percentage of DEMOCRAT voters are beginning to accept the possibility that The Donald could take the prize. They know they have little to bring to the Presidential debates before the election, from either Herself (who may be quite ill by then) or The Bern, who once he gets beyond his giveaway programs, has not a clue as to how they may be paid for, other than “tax the rich”. Even a late substitute in the game may not have the necessary preparation to even to begin to respond intelligently to The Donald.
Annihilation is near. (Cue up Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries”)
This is very important because it starts to put pressure on the GOPe to get behind Trump at least in a minimal way. And if they don’t, all their little senate and house seats go away.
What could go against Cruz is the birth issue, and that could be ammo put into Hillary’s hands.
