A lot longer than 2009. About 1985, a new batch of condos was being built at Greenwood Village in Sagamore Hills Ohio. INS pulled up and virtually everyone ran away. I think the captured something like 52 illegals!

It has been going on in the cities here with illegals forever, too-but in rural areas that are not close to the border, illegals are beyond unwelcome, and therefore not a big problem-we just call la migra on them-since there are not a lot of jobs at the best of times, and most jobs are blue collar. And in bad times like this, even the green cards holders are unwelcome, because they are still cheap labor, so the tourist traps like guest ranches and resorts hire them instead of local US citizens-jobs should be for citizens first, period...

aha my neighbor. In the early 60s I was a child. The Marshall Estate (now Greenwood village) was for sale. The manse and gorgeous acreage. I begged my parents to buy it. If they had know-how they could have.. as a child I didn’t have know how — I do now.. It was pie in sky. They bought in Sagamore and I am now living in the home they build which is contiguous to the national park. we do need to meet for “whatever”
