Right now, the clueless media, who are desperate for the continuation of the Trump-driven ratings boost they have received are gleefully reporting that the race is all but over, Trump has won, get ready for President Hillary.
The media does not understand conservatives in the least, and they never have. They have correctly calculated that mounting pretend attacks on Trump increases his standing with his own base of support, which works well to their advantage.
But their lack of understanding about conservative voters has led them to look at what Trump has accomplished in the primary thus far, and conclude that his trajectory will be more or less the same as John McCain's, or Mitt Romney's. They fail to understand that, while conservatives were not enthusiastic about either Romney or McCain, neither was anything even remotely as offensive to conservative sensibilities as Trump is.
Trump has got his 30-35% of the Republican party in the bag. They are not going to change their minds, no matter what. No matter how many times Trump stabs them in the back, no matter how many insane and ill-informed things he says, these people are his. However, the media grossly underestimates the extent to which the rest of the Republican party has come to bitterly hate Donald Trump, in a way they never did John McCain or Mitt Romney.
As I noted last night, John McCain's standing in the national polls went up 10% (per RCP average) between the day of the Iowa caucuses and the day of the South Carolina primary. Mitt Romney's went up 8.5%. Donald Trump's went down 1.5%. Donald Trump is not building momentum. He is bitterly opposed by a huge remaining contingent of Republicans.
And right now, including last night's delegates, he has less than 5% of the delegates he needs to win the nomination. Trump currently has 61 delegates, and he needs 1,237. I plan to fight him every day until the day he crosses that threshold, and maybe beyond. I know I'm not nearly the only one who feels that way.
This race isn't over, not by a long shot.
“OMG!!! It’s all OVER! Everyone else should just QUIT!”
If Cruz was where Trump is, you guys would be calling for just that.
And Cruz and Rubio have...?? Like .00000123 percent?
We now watch the globalist oligarch controlled press and agents come squealing out of the woodwork in a last ditch effort to blunt Trump’s road to victory. Now they reveal themselves as the mole operatives they have always been. Take notes. Don’t forget. This reveals their rat lines and should constitute a terrain map to the enemies of civilization.
Eric Ericson or Leon Wolf. It’s still Redsnake.
Trump is for America, and America is made up of Republicans and Democrats.
The “Red vs. Blue” TV show put on by The Conservative Movement is a device to wrap globalization and transnationalism in an American flag, so we can be distracted fighting with each other while they dissolve the nation under our feet.
Enough is enough.
The Donald still has a greater delegate count than anybody else at this point. So he has to go through the primary process all the way through California, and might still not have enough for first-ballot win (a possibility, though distinctly diminishing with each passing day), but The Donald will still be standing for the second ballot, with a now-winnowed field. Any “brokering” that goes down will still have to consider The Donald to be a very dominant player, and about the most that could be forced upon him is their designate as VP choice. And the bosses may not even get that.
Their very last card would be to sit on their hands and let the Democrats win by default, forcing The Donald to rely entirely on his own resources to get elected. Talk about cutting off your own nose to show spite to your own face.
Or it might just turn into a runaway after the SEC regional primary. Things might get a little outta control about then.
Yeah, Leon....he ‘peaked’ back in August, wasn’t it? Not long now, huh? He gonna be tanking real soon! Just you wait. Come Super Tuesday he’s gonna be down for the count!. Yessiree!
Evangelicals seem to like Trump far better than they do the bile spitting wanna bee’s!
Dyspepsia from the bottom of the tank. They need to crawl back under the rock with Beck.
And every other candidate has less than that.
I read that no republican has won BOTH NH and SC since Reagan did in 1980. Suck on that red state.
Hillary won’t win against trump, but I’m pretty sure America won’t win with Trump. Trump is Hillary lite!
Piss on Leon Wolf!
RedState does not deserve their drivel to be elevated by the advanced ranking of FR by allowing their garbage to be posted here. I’d rather read repostings from Kos or the DUmp.
You’re right. We’ve allowed globalists and transnationalists to come to power because they run for office wrapped in our flag.
The Trump campaign is a CT scan of the body politic. Fortunately, the cancer is still operable.
Does it?
Here’s a fact for Trump haters: No Republican has ever won two out of three of the first three states and NOT BEEN the Nominee.
On the Dem side the only one to pull that off was Billy-Boy but in that race the first four states were split between four different people.
If Trump wins Nevada that places him in a strong strong position for SuperTuesday, and if he wins big there... That’s all she wrote.
“However, the media grossly underestimates the extent to which the rest of the Republican party has come to bitterly hate Donald Trump... [Trump] is bitterly opposed by a huge remaining contingent of Republicans.
Two sentences grouped together.
Two words repeated: “bitterly hate”, “bitterly opposed”.
This writer is completely unhinged. A larruping idiot. His own words testify to it.
Yes, I think Jeb pulled out to save himself the embarrassment of losing Florida. He knows he’d lose.
Wow. The guy states the obvious.
And it changes nothing.
Wasted effort writing it, more effort wasted reading it.
Big Lie much?
Trump isn't 'fighting', he is letting his suckers haul the water, chump.
I'd hit abuse, to get some of those pulled as a waste of bandwidth, but I'd rather leave that up as an example of The Donald style shoutdown. How Liberal of you.
The really sad part is that y'all don't even see it, because it feels good, right>
Go on, you can admit it. You will burn the village to feel warm after being out in the cold, because it feels good to strike out, to strike back, no matter who is in the line of fire, no matter what they stand for, because your guy (ha! that's a laugh! He's beholden to no one!) is stepping on all the toes of everyone who made your life miserable, and you are getting even by proxy.
Only your champion is in it for himself, and when his ends and yours aren't the same (he's courting Democrat votes already, he's sucked up to special interests for political support) you will rue the day.
I wouldn't. I would quietly enjoy watching the supporters of the great charlatan squirm.
