Gingrich on Trump: 'Nobody should kid themselves' anymore
The Washington Examiner ^ | 2/20/16 | Al Weaver

Newt Gingrich has a message for the GOP in Washington: Start taking Donald Trump seriously.

Appearing on Fox News after Trump's Saturday win in South Carolina, the former speaker of the House argued that nobody in the Washington Republican political class should kid themselves about Trump's chances any longer.

It is a huge night for Donald Trump and nobody should kid themselves. Here's a guy who seven months ago for the first time entered electoral politics, has learned at an extraordinary rate, Gingrich said, pointing to his second-place finish in Iowa and victories in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

By any reasonable standard, this is a decisive victory

Yep, he fights back like no other and he can’t care less for political correctness. These are traits we need in president, for a change.

hasn't Beck done enough damage to Cruz already?

I liked Glenn Beck a lot back before he changed his public persona. Now he is one of those "please don't be on my side in public" kinda guys LOL

Go Cruz

By doing so he will also expose just how incompetent and destructive Obama was. He will essentially expose Obama as the worst president in history.

He might just expose how corrupt our entire government has become on both sides of the isle.

No wonder they are scared.

After 100% of SC is now in, here's my AVG GOP Presidential Primary poll numbers since September 1st. Starting after the NV caucus, I will track the Primary result averages only. They are the real thing...but they are now included in these number:

Reminds me of Bush speech last night, proclaiming that they had devised a detailed policy for every major issue. No one cares. Policy details are for losers! Big picture is where it is at. Give the media details about anything and they use it to distort.

Trump can hire all the policy wonks he needs. But real courage and leadership is scarce.

The GOP thinks if they wait long enough, they will run Trump out of the race.

What they don’t realizes is, the longer they wait, the closer they get to the people running the GOP out of the race.

Newt was right about NY 23. The district went Democrat.

Not until he softens him up a little more.

Imagine the Cruz supporters when Ted makes a deal with the devil.

A good leader doesn’t have to know it all. He only needs to surround himself with those who do, then he has to lead them, support them, provide them with the resources they need, remove all obstacles, and win. ............... If he fits the description, then yes. There are times when Trump’s remarks are those of a drill sergeant (Back in my time, before PC)but you can’t be everything to everyone. There is a job to be done, and he appears to fill the leadership requirements regardless as how he may express himself. America needs to get its hard skin back to the days of “when sticks and stones may break my bones and names can never harm me”. We need to get our economy going again, once it gets going all the social BS will fall in place. We need to bring back the “Made in America” stamping. If it takes a loudmouth to do it, then the answer to you is Yes. The Business of America is Business, so let get to it.

Newt Gingrich is the first politician I've heard who has some insight into Trump's candidacy...

Why did Cruz ever become involved with loony Beck? Although I do not believe most endorsements are all that important, his apparent close association with Beck could only have cost him votes. For some people the image remains of Cruz and Beck handing out teddy bears to illegal gang members. I wonder if somebody around him is providing him very bad advice. While Cruz has had some good TV adds, other I believe have backfired.

Trump associates with Russian mafia and cocaine traffickers. Read the article by Dana Loesch..................... Uh uh, is he going to name them as members of his cabinet? Seems to me JFK had ties also. Did Sam Giancanna ever become Sect’y of the treasury? Many of us are no more than 1-2 degrees away from the underworld, it doesn’t mean we are part of it or would use them in any way. Because we may have attended a function with them doesn’t mean we are dependent upon them or owe them something. In the business world you do business, sometimes you have to deal with shady business men, it doesn’t mean that you have to give someone a ride in the trunk of the car to attain a business goal. Was Trump buying tons of drugs? Selling cocaine at the reception desks? Having Russian 14 yr old girls available for friends and politicians? (Hmmmm? maybe that is why he was close to Bill and Hillary?)

The R’ need to do something like Newt did in the 80’, Contract With America. Include items like deficit, immigration, health care, isis, etc. Think instead of 10 they should keep it at 5 or 6 items. Have all candidates onboard, Congress, Senate, POTUS. If done right would be huge for GOP, may get some of us back in the fold. If they failed to follow up would be the end of the GOP.
