Cruz is a lawyer. I've never known a lawyer to turn down a settlement that got them 3/4 of what they wanted when the alternative was nothing to show for their effort.If at some point Trump sees the absolute need to have Cruz as VP he can bring that about!
Trump can offer 100% of what Cruz wants, he can absolutely promise Cruz that if they win he will soon become the president.
All Trump would have to do is resign the office a bit early :-)
How's that for an offer you can't refuse?

Cruz can’t be VP if there’s even a shadow of doubt about his eligibility to be President.
Supreme Court Justice or Attorney General is the top of the mark for him.
