Cruz couldn't resist a dig on Trump
Vanity | Vanity

Posted on 02/20/2016 6:50:17 PM PST by FormerRep

Ted Cruz couldn't resist an attack by name on Trump in his speech. Trump gave him and Rubio gracious congratulations for their campaigns. Rubio took high ground and was collegial to Trump and Jeb.

Cruz sure does attack a lot for a guy that says I won't attack my competition....

Oh by the way look up the theory of cause and effect.

It’s called reacting to someone.

Some people set up a vision of conservatism that even their hero, Ronald Reagan, can’t meet. But they project that on every other candidate. They are just setting themselves up for disappointment. And boy are they disappointed.

I agree with you and I’m so tired of the insults and ENDLESS LIES about the only true conservative in the race—Ted Cruz. Just looking through this thread his supporters are called names over and over again. I can speak for no one but myself but I will NOT be bullied into casting my vote for such an arrogant bully as Donald Trump. NOT EVER and especially not by the ignorant sheeple who have taken over Free Republic. My vote is just one and my dollars are few but they will be going in support of Ted Cruz.

Reagan as CA Governor also signed one of the nation’s first “no-fault” divorce laws, which certainly contributed to the nation’s avalanche of divorces and cohabitations since the 70s, harming many, many children. The idea of it originated with the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, as part of the communist overthrow of religion.

You’re talking gibberish son. Take a deep breath, find an issue that actually matters, like immigration, economy, national security or trade, and then try to build a sentence and post that actually says something worth reading.

I know what you are saying. The label is all that matters to some, when results are what they should be looking for.

Back in the 1960’s and before, most states had a 6 month or 1 year waiting period for divorces. I believe Nevada had a 1 month waiting period. People would go to Nevada or Mexico for what was called a “quickie divorce”. I’ve been married only once, and in November we celebrated our 30th anniversary.

Son? Yeh. no.

Maybe you need to check your facts. That is, if you cared at all about them.

Anyone who wants to run for the GOP nomination and even jokes about a partial-birth abortion supporting judge is not funny. And what about Pryor who attacked Roy Moore? So Trump is 0-2.

I fought against Schwarzenegger and I saw him for what he was — a Kennedy liberal who took some conservative positions. Trump is a long-time Democrat, liberal and enemy of conservatism who is now taking some conservative positions. Who is the biggest sucker? I say you and the Trump supporters are. If by some chance Trump, God forbid, wins the GOP nomination and the presidency and turns out to another Schwarzenegger, please do yourself a favor and don’t show up on FR again. I will remember you and your friends and remind you of how Arnold Jr. is destroying our nation...and his blood will be on your hands. I can live with whatever Cruz does. I hope you can say the same with Trump.

Don’t you ever go away. In the end, no matter what happens, you and your long-time Democrat, serial adulterer and supporter of the Obama stimulus and auto bailout will be the biggest stinking losers.

By the way, how can anyone support Trump after his 2009 statements about how great Obama was doing. Stupid then, and always will be stupid.

Who said I’m mad grandma?

Boy you people are a sad bunch. It’s not the Cruz supporteres that are rude, offensive and mean, it’s the Trump supporters. They follow their dear leader, real well, apparently.

Have a great night.

Because context is everything son, and you are taking that out of context. Trump was expressing his hopes for America, not admiration for obumber. But I know, integrity is not your thing.

a man who says he does not need God's forgiveness because he is so inherently good?

For the record, that's not what he said. He said he doesn't ask forgiveness, but he tries to do better going forward. Not the same as "saying he is so inherently good".

It was a very awkward moment for a non-politician at the very beginning of campaigning as a northerner and a presbyterian -- few of those folks are taught how to testify effectively, if at all. Many old-line protestants in the northeast states consider religion embarrassing to talk about. So it is a case of an intrusive question asked that revealed his awkward illiteracy about the deeper lessons of salvation. The idea of "works" as a ticket to heaven is incorrect, but is rather common in many Biblically illiterate Christians.

Certainly, it is an occasion not to wish his "death" but to pray for his complete salvation, since even if he loses the race, he will continue to have influence over our national affairs as long as he is able. And his parents lived into their 90s.
