Carr: Pope’s words answer to Donald Trump’s primary prayer

Who would have ever dreamed that the pope would win a primary for Donald Trump — in South Carolina, of all places, the buckle of the Bible Belt.

Sure, Trump was probably going to prevail tomorrow anyway. But it’s over now, thanks to Pope Francis and his sanctimonious, tone-deaf statement that “a person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian.” Related Articles Pope Francis flap could boost Donald Trump in South Donald Trump blames Mexican gov’t for Pope Francis’ remarks Bernie Sanders goes on the defense while Hillary Clinton goes into attack mode

So much for 1 Corinthians 2:11: “Only God knows the truth of a man’s heart.”

So much for James 4:12: “You — who are you to judge your neighbor?”

There’s an old saying — I’d rather be lucky than good. Donald Trump sure is lucky, and he’s even luckier in his choice of enemies. He now owes the pope a “Make America Great Again!” baseball cap. You could tell how happy Trump was yesterday morning as he announced the wonderful news to his first “town hall” of the day.

“The pope?” he said, recounting his conversation with an aide. “Oh good, did he say good things? ... No? ... I don’t think you’re gonna like it so much.”

Yeah, right. Trump didn’t like it, he loved it.

Let’s face it, a lot of born-agains still don’t care all that much for the Catholic church. The pope’s PC harrumphing makes them think more kindly of Trump.

And even though there aren’t all that many Catholics in the Palmetto State, I’d bet most of them aren’t all that crazy about this secular humanist who comes off like Al Gore whenever he starts spouting off about global warming, which is about three times a day.

Does the pope even understand that he lives in a community with 36-foot-high walls — walls built in the ninth century by Pope Leo IV to protect Vatican City from savage marauding Arabs who were raping, pillaging and looting their way across Europe. Sound familiar?

I’m sorry, Howie Carr is not a Conservative. He’s an entertainer. He does have a lot if influence but he’s been wrong for the last 15 years and he’s wrong again. Trump has the highest unfavorable ratings of any candidate. Those people will stay home on election day, write in another candidate or vote for the other party. Once again the so-called Conservative will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Mark my words.

Do you realize you just angered everyone in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with our profane insult?

Be careful!  Or you'll be excommunicated from the Holy Free Republic Church.

So when someone asks the Pope about homosexuality he says famously “who am I to judge”. But when someone asks him about Donald Trump and illegal immigration, he does a good amount of judging. This guy the Pope ought to be tested for dementia.
