Ted Cruz Closes Gap on Donald Trump in South Carolina, New Poll Says
The New York Times' First Draft ^ | February 19, 2016 | Alan Rappeport

The Republican race in South Carolina has edged closer a day before voters cast their ballots, according to a new poll that shows Donald J. Trump and Senator Ted Cruz neck and neck.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist survey found that 28 percent of likely Republican primary voters support Mr. Trump, while 23 percent back Mr. Cruz. In January, the billionaire was leading him by 16 percentage points.

Conducted after the first two nomination contests and the latest Republican presidential debate, Mr. Cruz has seen a groundswell of support shift his way from voters who consider themselves to be "very conservative" and Tea Party Republicans. The Texas senator has been hammering Mr. Trump for his previous liberal positions and for his criticism of former President George W. Bush.

Despite the swing, several other recent polls have shown Mr. Trump maintaining double-digit leads in South Carolina ahead of the election on Saturday.

Some of Mr. Trump's support in South Carolina has also shifted to Senator Marco Rubio, whose support sits at 15 percent. The Florida Republican is also the most popular second choice among South Carolina voters...

I haven’t lied or distorted anything. If you look at the graph it is clear that Trumps support in SC is falling fast. On Feb 10th, his RCP average was 38%, today his RCP average is 31.8% A drop of 6.2% over the last nine days. One of the main reasons for this drop is that four of the polls that have come out in the last few days have had Trump below 30%. There still are polls that show him in the mid thirties but enough polls are showing him falling into the 20’s that something is definitely going on.

The Trump Cult is scared to death. If they were confident they wouldn’t say a thing.

No, Croozers keep posting bullshit & opening themselves to ridicule and Trump supporter oblige them with the facts.

We don’t want you guy to feel all alone on your desperate-for-attention threads — that wouldn’t be neighborly!

The NYer is a great patriot and a genuine supporter of America’s vets. And this support goes back decades.

SC is very pro-military as are many other southern states. It’s not complicated.

I swear, these Cruz followers must believe that Cruz gains more in the polls every time they post one of these WSJ affiliated polls. That’s the only rational explanation for the scores of postings for the same couple of polls.

Observations on Donald Trump's genuine Christian faith.

Disclaimer-1 : I am a Ted Cruz Florida campaigner.

Disclaimer-2 : My wife and I just spent the previous 30 minutes discussing all of the great points that Donald Trump offers.

So here we go.

Donald Trump proclaims that he rarely asks God for forgiveness.

Following the logic expressed this week by a South Carolina pastor ...

"Anyone doesn't ever ask God for forgiveness is NOT a Christian"

Jesus Christ's final words on Calvary's cross included ...

Father forgive them for they know not what they do ...

It follows that "forgiveness" is a pretty big deal.

That's just my two cents ...

P.S. Today is the South Carolina Presidential Primary.

Whatever his great/puzzling positions and excessive twitter tweets at 2 am ...

I staunchly believe that Donald Trump's entrance into the 2016 GOP Presidential campaign ...

is frankly a "divine miracle from God Almighty".

And I say that as a very loyal Ted Cruz supporter.

Donald Trump is THE REASON why JEB! is expected to cancel his 2016 Presidential campaign TONIGHT.

Donald Trump is THE REASON why the GOPe has had its @ss politically kicked from here to eternity.

Whatever happens in South Carolina today ...

EVERY Evangelical Christian Conservative needs to thank God for Donald Trump (even if they vote for Ted Cruz) ...

As it turned out...yes.

We are starting to get multiple indications that Trump hurt himself badly with his “bush lied people died” comments along with his support for all the good things planned parenthood does besides abortions.

Yep...Trump dropped like a rock didn't he?

Sush...let the children get all hyped up. If this poll is wrong, and the other 15 SC polls are right, tomorrows results are going to be massive kick in the teeth for Cruz supporters after all this hype.

Turns out Ted couldn't even beat the biggest empty suit in Republican politics. Third behind Rubio...sheesh.

LOL...pretty much my weekend.

Once again, Trump defied the doomsayers.

I will note that both Cruz and Rubio way outperformed their polling.

So it’s possible that while Trump may not have lost many supporters, opposition to his remarks may have driven some of the last minute surge to Rubio and Cruz.
