The Republican race in South Carolina has edged closer a day before voters cast their ballots, according to a new poll that shows Donald J. Trump and Senator Ted Cruz neck and neck.
An NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist survey found that 28 percent of likely Republican primary voters support Mr. Trump, while 23 percent back Mr. Cruz. In January, the billionaire was leading him by 16 percentage points.
Conducted after the first two nomination contests and the latest Republican presidential debate, Mr. Cruz has seen a groundswell of support shift his way from voters who consider themselves to be "very conservative" and Tea Party Republicans. The Texas senator has been hammering Mr. Trump for his previous liberal positions and for his criticism of former President George W. Bush.
Despite the swing, several other recent polls have shown Mr. Trump maintaining double-digit leads in South Carolina ahead of the election on Saturday.
Some of Mr. Trump's support in South Carolina has also shifted to Senator Marco Rubio, whose support sits at 15 percent. The Florida Republican is also the most popular second choice among South Carolina voters...

Trump is losing support in SC. Four of the polls released in the last two days have him below 30%. If you look at the Real Clear Politics graph his support is cratering. With the lead that he had and the fact that the primary is tomorrow, I don’t know if Cruz or Rubio can catch him but I think it will be close.
Hmm curious now Team Cruz wants to hype a “2nd poll” that shows them finishing third behind both Trump and Rubio?

Actually your own source RCP shows that statement false

Its not just a second poll. There are four polls that have come out in the last two days that all show Trump with less than 30% support. Look at Trumps Real Clear politics graph, its currently going down like the drop off a cliff.
You continue to post this Poll on other threads as if it is the Holy Grail. You are hurting Ted Cruz more than helping him. Why not post articles that reflect his strengths and articulate his positions. This constant drum beat, from my perspective, ill-serves Senator Cruz. I believe that the positions that Senator Cruz has discussed over the past few months are worthy ones that need to be addressed during the campaign.
Ok ok guess its time for this:
Trummp IS DOOMED!! FInished Kaputt even! oh noes!!
**sigh**
It’s odd how all the polls that turn out to be way off come out right before each primary vote.
I do think this race is tightening. But the real surprise is that Trump is winning at all in a state where Cruz should be in the driver’s seat with Rubio second.
The New Yorker shouldn’t be this strong in the South.
Looking forward to the results.
Great graphic!
Again, if you Trumpets are so confident in Trump stomping every other candidate, why worry what I or any other poster posts? You should be sitting back, glass of champagne in hand, gloating at us “losers” and our pathetic candidates, right?
Whoa! I LIKE that one! I am going to steal it!
In fact, I just did! Nice graphic!
Personally, I have always despised the very concept of Polls. I see no justification for their existence. Contrary to the stated objective of gaging opinions, they are obviously designed to influence them.
The Opinion Savvy, Harper (R), NBC/WSJ/Marist, and Clemson polls all have Trump below 30%. They all were released since Wednesday this week.
Let them keep posting, stupid Croozers may begin to think Trump is hopelessly gonna lose and they will stay home and watch TV.
Trump is DOOOMED, DOOOOMED i tell ya.
All the polls-- except for NBC-- all have Trump increasing his support from the last time they were polled. Your reading of the polls are wishful thinking at best.
I don’t understand the excitement folks have with polls. They are notoriously inaccurate. The only true and valid poll is the one taken after everyone who wanted to vote has voted, and those votes are tabulated (then again, if Dims are involved, that is not accurate either, as the fraud has not been factored in).
bttt
I think there’s also a good chance that Cruz wins South Carolina, Nevada and a good share of the SEC states and becomes the undisputed front-runner.
“You should be sitting back, glass of champagne in hand, gloating at us âlosersâ and our pathetic candidates, right?”
That’s what I am doing, except with the champagne of beers. I don’t have Goldman Sachs money to afford champagne like the Canuck and his loony wife.
