On Thursday night's town hall hosted by MSNBC and Telemundo, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton defended her evolution on same-sex marriage, saying she has shifted on the LGBT rights issue with the rest of the country.
"I, like many Americans, have evolved," she told a Las Vegas real estate agent, who said it "broke his heart" when she failed to stand up for marriage equality years ago.
The beginning of Clinton's campaign was dogged by criticism that her record on LGBT was mixed at best before she announced her support for marriage equality through the Human Rights Campaign in 2013.
She's since made LGBT civil rights central to her platform, securing an unprecedented early endorsement from the HRC and many other LGBT celebrities, politicians and activists.
Thursday night, the candidate cited her HRC endorsement and said she was in favor of the Equality Act, a national LGBT civil rights bill that is unlikely to make it through Congress.
Clinton then repeated an oft-cited criticism of Bernie Sanders for saying that such an endorsement represented "establishment" support around her.
"âWell, with all due respect, they fight against the establishment every single day, and I've been with them for years, and I will pass the Equality Act, too."

Hillary is as malleable as her ethics.
My views have never changed.
Translation: I have no core values on the subject, just goes whichever way the wind is blowing.
because the media has been pushing this so much that she thinks she is in the majority and yet only a handful of people I know want this homo crap.
Just because people are not as loud it does not mean they are not the majority.
What is her position on Incestuous Marriage and Polygamous Marriage? All things being equal that is.
Evolved.
Hey, it worked for SloBama.
Hillary has evolved: Arf! Arf! Arf!
Yup.
I believe in traditional marriage between a man and woman.
I have held that belief all my life.
I don’t need a poll to tell me the standards God expects of me.
Hillary tells people what they want to hear.
“Sir, I am as gay as you are. But I’m always running for public office, so I need to constantly keep my finger in the wind to know what is the most advantageous thing to say. But please know that I always supported gay marriage in my heart.”
AUGH!
It’s a Pokemon!
Does any one really believe her? Not even the Lavender Mafia seriously takes her Damascus Road conversion to the LGBT cause.
Evolved. Such a noble-sounding word. How adept the Left is at painting flowers on outhouses.
What, did she lick BJ’s cigar and hold it up to see which way the wind was blowing?
It’d be hilarious if that barking fit she pulled the other day dogs her for the rest of her campaign, and anytime she utters a lie in a public forum the audience members bark their heads off.
I have not evolved even a little on marriage.
I have always believed that every unmarried adult should have a legal right to marry the person of the opposite sex of their choice, so long as that person is also an unmarried adult, consenting, and not a close relative.
As for the farce that passes for “marriage” these days, I miss the times when words had meaning.
Notice how these people always “evolve” away from good and towards evil. You’d never hear her say, “On abortion, I used to think it was cool to butcher little babies, but now I’m having second thoughts about that.” (Of course, the GOP does have a candidate who claims to have moved in that direction.)
EVOLVED huh? Is that the new code-word for “I go along to get along?”
I believe so.
Evolve my ass. She’s a chameleon.
‘she has shifted on the LGBT rights issue with the rest of the country’
BULLETIN: the ‘rest of the country’ has not evolved like you. most of the citizenry is against same sex ‘marriage’. (Did anyone ever ask her what word she was going to change the meaning of next? You know, just to make a minority feel better about themselves? For thousands of years, the word ‘marriage’ simply meant the union of a man and a woman. Period. But trust me, the dictionaries NOW include ‘the union of two people of the same sex’ as their second meaning.)
