Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, appearing on the June 10, 2007, edition of "Meet The Press," reiterated and expanded on his claim that he was misled by unknown forces in the intelligence community who failed to reveal vital information to him before his infamous February 5, 2003, speech before the
So Bush’s conquest of Baghdad made him great because.............
Troll!
They can’t very well attack him with it, can they?
Meet the Press is the go-to place for decades for newsmakers and news reporters.
Are you a Tokyo Rove fan? He's a liar. Or do you defend him too?
Insiders Blame Rove for Covering Up Iraqâs Real WMD
But at least in 2005 and 2006, the Bush White House wasn't interested. "We don't want to look back," Santorum recalled Rove as saying (though Santorum stressed he was not quoting verbatim conversations he had more than eight years ago). "I will say that the gist of the comments from the president's senior people was "We don't want to look back, we want to look forward."
Dave Wurmser-who served at the time as a senior adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney on national-security issues-remembers receiving a similar message from Rove.
According to Wurmser, "in 2005-6, Karl Rove and his team blocked public disclosure of these (findings) and said "Let these sleeping dogs lie; we have lost that fight so better not to remind anyone of it."
Bullshit! I knew this butthead when he was commander of V Corps (for five minutes - to punch his corps command ticket), spoke with him briefly when he was the chairman and worked with him a bit when he was SecState. He was the most political flag officer I’ve ever met, a self-indulgent and self-promoting ass and never took responsibility for anything. He was the person who made the case to the UN and now he claims he was misled?
“Misled” my ass! Every intelligence agency in the world knew that Iraq had WMDs. Hell, they used them against the Iranians and the Kurds, so where’d they go? Just vanish? We knew they were moving a lot of highly suspect materials out of Iraq and into Syria and the Bekaa Valley for 13 months, but were so afraid that there were persistent agents or highly-radioactive materials in those convoys that we elected not to take them out.
More recently, sarin, VX and ricin show up in Syria and Syria uses chem weapons in its civil war. To the best of our knowledge, Syria never had a WMD program. Where’d they come from? Now, we’re expected to believe that ISIS is “making” their own WMDs? Give me a friggin’ break!
I posted links stating ISIS has Saddam’s WMD’s.
Because the MSM is so honest and unbiased............
If Powell had been kicked out of the Army, as he should have been for his complicity in the My Lai massacre, we wouldn’t have to have up with all of his nonsense since then.
I gather neither of you know what the following means: indicate the mark on the video where Powell says Bush lied to him.
Yes, the WMD thing was a red herring.
So you are acknowledging that Bush lied about the WMDs?
Right? I just heard that correctly?
You just think he lied about them from a different direction.
So, you’re saying that the Bush Administration lied about WMDs. Right?
I think the other poster’s point was that Trump is an ignoramus for getting info from the news.
Let me illustrate your position:
Weatherman says it is 55 degrees and sunny.
Outside it is negative ten and two foot of snow.
But you will ignore the facts and base your accepted reality off what the weatherman “said”.
So, do you think My Lai was an indictment of our troops in Vietnam?
he conquered Baghdad, one of the world’s great capitals since near the beginning of History
Answer the question:
When did the Bush Administration shout out in the media that they found WMDs and had proved their case?
Goodbye, xzins.
You aren’t getting it either, I’ve showed that we did find WMD.
Doesn’t matter what anyone said or didn’t say.
The facts are the facts.
