You might be surprised how often strange non-Jews wander into synagogues. Sometimes they are missionaries who may or may not be honest, sometimes they are mentally ill or mentally handicapped. Sometimes just curious and naive. No doubt muzzies are probing security these days. I bet only a fraction of the incidents are made public.

Yes, I have several groups of Jews ... Some may have been elderly. Some, in fact, may not have been Jews at all. I don’t actually care who they were, but I defended them with the nuclear weapons I slept next to. (In fact, if the guy is not actually wearing the y’luke, I’m not real sure I could actually recognize an “elderly Jew” if I walked up behind him (or her) on the street.)

So you never really did anything for the Jews, never served on a Jewish border, so to speak. You just did your US military service, which was your duty and your privilege, for which you are to be commended.
