That is what you want to believe.
That is not what he said. People tend to say the craziest things about what they think Trump said, when his entire life is a testament to exactly the opposite of what they want him to believe.
You don’t suddenly become a conservative in your 60’s. I became a conservative in my early 20’s. The older you get the more set in your ways you become.
***
...what?
You... I...
What?
Sorry. Does not freaking compute.
I posted the entire question and answer (well non answer mostly) you can read the rest at
Drop the dirty trick.. and lies stuff and just read what he said, pretend its some one else saying it and see if you can find a way to think it a good argument.
Ok, I’ll buy it.. For now.
For those of you who are interested in learning Mr. Trump’s positions on healthcare since 2000, check out this link:
http://www.ontheissues.org/celeb/Donald_Trump_Health_Care.htm
His oldest position, from July 2000, is similar to his position today.
From the time I became a conservative i never gave a nickle to any liberal candidate or cause. I never voted for a democrat.
Trump has been voting for and supporting liberals and giving money to liberals right up through the last election. Now he claims to be a “conservative” but every time he opens his mouth he spits out some big government liberal claptrap and his supporters either claim he was taken out of context, that he didn’t mean what he said, or he didn’t say it.
Trump clealy said “I like THE MANDATE”. We all know what “THE MANDATE” is. It is what Roberts called a “Tax”. You can pretend he didn’t mean what he said, but he did mean it. You just can’t deal with it.
You really want a low cost health system with out any form if insurance ?
Good luck with that. Pay as you go is fine when your 25 and in perfect health but try it at 49 with ACDF surgery.
Insurance needs reformed and more importantly malpractices law needs to be reformed.
Cross state borders is a good first start.
Low cost catastrophic care plans are a good second.
Lowering the need for ‘defensive’ medicine is also needed.
It is complex and djt only gives simple comments like wonderful and great and huge savings..etc..
Right.
We must have universal health care
From the horse's mouth.
Well, he certainly is espousing some kind of big government solution to all the “people dying in the streets” isn’t he?
What have the other candidates proposed?
Trump supports the mandate requiring all individuals to buy health insurance, and under the Obamacare status quo within a highly restricted, over priced market.
Trump might clarify this tomorrow, i.e. it may not be what he meant to say, but it's what his words said.
To all of the Trump haters: If Pat Buchanan is for him, then I’m for him.
As for lying and flipping, you should love him since he’s sounding more like the politicians you want to elect.
“His definition of mandate, single payer, universal health care is not the same as those used by political junkies”
May I ask where i buy the English to Trumpish translation dictionary.
ROFLOL!!!!
Trumps positions prior to this election.
Obamacare can’t be reformed, salvaged, or fixed. It’s that bad. Obamacare has to be killed now before it grows into an even bigger mess, as it inevitably will. Obamacare takes full effect in 2014. If it’s not repealed before then, it will be more than just another failed government entitlement program—it will be the trillion-ton weight that finally takes down our economy forever.
Obamacare is a heat-seeking missile that will destroy jobs & small businesses; it will explode health-care costs; and it will lead to health care that is far less innovative than it is today. Every argument that you’d make against socialism you can make against socialized health care, and any candidate who isn’t 100% committed to scrapping Obamacare is not someone America should elect president. Repealing Obamacare may be one of the most important and consequential actions our next president takes.

Increase insurance competition across state lines
Even if we elect a real president who will get tough and repeal Obamacare, we still need a plan to bring down health-care costs and make health-care insurance more affordable for everyone. It starts with increasing competition between insurance companies. Competition makes everything better and more affordable.
One way to infuse more competition into the market is to let citizens purchase health-care plans across state lines.
This could be easily accomplished if Congress got some guts and did the right thing. The U.S. Constitution gives Congress control over interstate commerce. But for whatever reason, the Congress has never exercised this power regarding health insurance. They need to.

Have any of the other candidates addressed if or how they would cover pre-existing conditions?
Could it be covered in the free market by forming a pool of high-risk customers?
COOPER: I got one question about it. If Obamacare’s Repealed and there’s no mandate for everybody to have insurance, what’s to - why would insurance company (sic) not have a pre-existing - insure somebody who has a pre-existing condition ...
TRUMP: Well I like the mandate. OK. So here’s where I’m a little bit different. I don’t want people dying on the streets and I say this all the time. And I say this - look, I did five speeches, maybe six speeches today. We had a lot of rallies. We had of thousands and thousands of people. We get big crowds.
Every time I talk about this I get standing ovations. The Republican people, they’re wonderful people. They don’t want people dying on the streets. Sometimes they’ll say Donald Trump wants single payer because there’s a group of people - as good as these plans are and by the way your insurance will go way down, you’ll have better plans, you’ll get your own doctor which Obama lied. Remember this ...
I saw the whole clip. It was a decent answer.
The other Republican candidates generally aren’t for repealing the mandate that insurance companies offer policies to those with pre-existing conditions either.
That is completely different from the mandate that people purchase insurance.
But Trump point out that he’d make sure everyone has access to insurance, not just those with pre-existing conditions, but the indigent (who have coverage via Medicaid), as well. Then he goes on to point out that he’s for the free-market solution, which he has said he’d encourage with allowing interstate commerce on, as well as medical savings accounts.
That is a good answer.
Right—the question was about the mandate for everyone to have access to insurance—which is that insurers offer coverage to those with pre-existing conditions.
No, the context was the mandate that insurers offer plans to those with pre-existing conditions—so everyone has access to a plan.
That is different from fining people for not buying insurance.
