Texas Sen. Ted Cruz may not have the best rapport with the Latino community, but on Thursday he received a key endorsement from a member of the community.
Congressman Raúl Labrador of Idaho came out in support of Cruzâs bid for the Republican presidential nomination.
In his endorsement, the Puerto Rican-born lawmaker called Cruz âa stalwart defender of the constitution and a tireless advocate for conservative principles.â
âAmericans know Washington is broken,â Labrador said in a press release. âTed Cruz is the only candidate that will truly change the way Washington works, restore the balance of power between the presidency and the American people, and advance the principles of freedom and liberty for all Americans, not just the privileged few. It's time for all conservatives to unite behind the one candidate that can win in November and defeat the Washington establishment.â
Labrador was elected to the House in 2010 and is a leader in the House Freedom Caucus. The lawmaker, who is a strong supporter protecting civil and religious liberties, has recently been a strong critic of House Speaker Paul Ryan â criticizing the Wisconsin congressman for not being conservative enough.

Canadians from all over can’t wait to vote for Ted.
Oh..., wait.
Never mind...
He’s not eligible there either now. Drat.
Mormon.
Nothing surprising here. We knew this was coming and I am fine with it.
I want Cruz to win too.
But contrary to so many who are getting so caught up and offended in all of this...and in danger of forming circular firing squads...
The real goal it to win the Whitehouse and fundamentally change the direction the country has been put on by Obama. To do that we simply must not allow Sanders or Hillary to win...and, IMHO, to really do it, we need either Cruz or Trump to win the Whitehouse...though I think Carson would suffice as well.
HAcing said that, if it come down to Sanders or Hillary versus any of the GOP coandiates, I would vote for them and not cry and go home.
Ny own order of preference at this point is probably:
Cruz
Trump
Carson
Rubio
Kasich
Bush
Realistically at this point, I honestly believe Trump is in the driver’s set with Cruz probably the only one who could really challenge him.
I am fine with that. Having Trump and Cruz going into the convention with either of them having a majority of delegates, or having that majority together is something I can live with in any case.

For those who are curious, Labrador ran against Boehner for Speaker two elections ago. He folded like a cardboard suitcase last time and heard about it bigtime. His stated position on immigration is secure-the-borders-first, enforce-the-existing-laws second.
Good news for Cruz! I would support Speaker of the House Labrador. A man can dream right.
Maybe Bob Dole will change his mind.
Don’t be surprised if most Raul’s Juan’s Eduardo’s Julio’s and others vote for Cruz or Rubio before anyone else....just like the last election only different names and ethnicity. For most of us there really is only a Donald or a John if history likewise repeats itself.
My own order of preference at this point is probably:
Cruz
Trump
Carson
Rubio
Kasich
Bush
Mine!!!
Cruz
Carson
Rubio
loser, fat, his wife is barely a 7, scum, etc...
Another foreigner on American soil supporting a foreigner. Good grief!
You do know that Puerto Rico where he was born is part of the USA?
Too bad for Cruz no one will ever read this story. Thanks to the stupid Pope, today is all about trump, Trump, TRUMP!
