Cruz Says He Hasn't Attacked His Colleagues, Despite Attacking His Colleagues
Weekly Standard ^ | 2/18/2016 | SHOSHANA WEISSMANN

Posted on 02/18/2016 2:34:55 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

During Wednesday night's CNN Republican Town Hall, Cruz was asked about his relationship with his colleagues. "From time to time, we see articles written in the paper or on television that you don't get along with some of the Republican senators--your colleagues in Washington. If you are going to have a problem with them, what are you going to say to them as president to get them on board so that we can get legislation passed?"

In his answer, Cruz explained, "it's not that I speak with a lack of civility or respect, I mean you have seen in the presidential campaign as other people insult me, impune my integrity, I don't respond in kind. The Bible talks about if someone treats you unkindly, repay them with kindness. It's like heaping coals on the top of their head. That has been the standard I have tried to follow, that's how I have approached it in the Senate. So, I have not attacked or insulted my colleagues in the senate, Democrat or Republican. even if I disagree with them on the issues."

Cruz went on to say that people say he's unlikeable because he honors "the commitments that I made to the women and men who elected me."

However, Cruz has not only attacked his colleagues, but his attacks have helped him gain support of those disenchanted with the Republican establishment.

Last July, Cruz called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a liar. "What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that not only what he told every Republican senator, but what he told the press over and over and over again, was a simple lie." In October, he also called McConnell, "the most effective Democratic leader in modern times."

Frankly, I don’t really care either. I am so unenthusiastic for anyone but TRUMP, and unconvinced anyone else can win the General Election but TRUMP.

TRUMP is becoming a legendary candidate. He will make a great president. The rest are clearly power players, driven by personal ambition.

I believe TRUMP thinks the country needs a reboot, of the kind only he can deliver, to save her. Cruz is strictly about Cruz. I now think even his conservatism is a prop to smarmy the Evangelicals that he’s flogging to carry him to some kind of a victory.

Trump is so sincerely interested in the fate of the dang country, he’s even shocking Cruz by winning over Evangelicals practically 2 to 1 over Ted, in South Carolina.

But please, let's talk more about TrusTED!

It's been my observation that when someone tells you to trust them, you probably shouldn't trust them.

he honors "the commitments that I made to the women and men who elected me."

Lol...how about honoring the commitment you made to serve out your term in the Senate...you know...the job you were elected to do?

I'd be more concerned with your bro....Mr. Trump. Seems he can attack Cruz, and Carson's faith, but when the table is turned he can't take it. He's a petulant child.

Cruz has turned into the most unethical person in the history of the United States.

More unethical than Hillary? More unethical than Bill Clinton? More unethical than Harry Reid? More unethical than Chick Shumer? More unethical than Eric Holder? More unethical than Charlie Rangel? More unethical than Al Sharpton?

Some people think a “face of God” Christian might be expected to be a bit more than a nominal one. But maybe that isn’t fair.

At the New Beginnings Church in Irving, Texas, in August 2012, Rafael Bienvenido Cruz delivered a sermon where he described his son’s senatorial campaign as taking place within a context where Christian “kings” were anointed to preside over an “end-time transfer of wealth” from wicked people to the righteous. Cruz urged the congregation to “tithe mightily” to achieve that result. During an interview conducted by the Christian Post in 2014, Cruz stated, “I think we cannot separate politics and religion; they are interrelated. They’ve always been interrelated.” Salon described Cruz as a “Dominionist, devoted to a movement that finds in Genesis a mandate that ‘men of faith’ seize control of public institutions and govern by biblical principle.”

.
The run to victory is what is going on with the Cruz campaign.

It totally aggravates the Trump Trolls.

The title of this thread is a typical Trump Troll lie.

It is born of the impending defeat syndrome that infects all of the Trumpers.

Good. I am glad you are finally finding out that Cruz is running a horrible campaign. I will be in absolute Heaven if Cruz gets 4th in South Carolina. I don’t think that could be any better. Bush has to be last......get rid of Bush Sunday and Ted Wednesday would be good for the country.

Your deep hatred of this country is showing.

Cruz is the country’s only chance, which is why you despise him.

Too bad! - You lose.
