Cruz Says He Hasn't Attacked His Colleagues, Despite Attacking His Colleagues
Weekly Standard ^ | 2/18/2016 | SHOSHANA WEISSMANN

Posted on 02/18/2016 2:34:55 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

During Wednesday night's CNN Republican Town Hall, Cruz was asked about his relationship with his colleagues. "From time to time, we see articles written in the paper or on television that you don't get along with some of the Republican senators--your colleagues in Washington. If you are going to have a problem with them, what are you going to say to them as president to get them on board so that we can get legislation passed?"

In his answer, Cruz explained, "it's not that I speak with a lack of civility or respect, I mean you have seen in the presidential campaign as other people insult me, impune my integrity, I don't respond in kind. The Bible talks about if someone treats you unkindly, repay them with kindness. It's like heaping coals on the top of their head. That has been the standard I have tried to follow, that's how I have approached it in the Senate. So, I have not attacked or insulted my colleagues in the senate, Democrat or Republican. even if I disagree with them on the issues."

Cruz went on to say that people say he's unlikeable because he honors "the commitments that I made to the women and men who elected me."

However, Cruz has not only attacked his colleagues, but his attacks have helped him gain support of those disenchanted with the Republican establishment.

Last July, Cruz called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a liar. "What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that not only what he told every Republican senator, but what he told the press over and over and over again, was a simple lie." In October, he also called McConnell, "the most effective Democratic leader in modern times."

I know, mine is so disappointing, just ordinary potting soil. A lot better when you use yours, with je ne sais quoi in it.

Yet all he ever does is throw crap that is untrue at other candidates.

I wonder what powers his gravity shields.

The ingenuity of the swindle?

Unfortunate that you fail to recognize the ingenuity of finding a way to keep us from the talons of the World Court is the greatest accomplishment of the last 100 years.

Who needs the kind of ingenuity that gives us casinos and brothels?

Depends on which poll, that was taken and when. All the Republican contenders, but for Carson, beat Clinton by two to four points roughly, as of today.

Kasich beats her best, by 7, today.

I believe only TRUMP rolls out, against Hillary, something she has not ever seen. Trump has the ability to rise to any occasion and to any level of competition, and the country has not yet been able to even see all of his cylinders. imho.

The rest are pols, and are going to hide in the policy weeds, debate in the policy weeds and shaft us entirely, by avoiding the big picture. The big picture, with Americans, are strength on the border, national security, particularly as related to refugees and vetting, this sorry, choked off socialist economy affecting jobs, our military and veteran disaster, religious liberty, killing political correctness which is removing free speech, and fair trade brought on by out of control global economy.

Hillary loves losing us in the weeds of academic policy and so does Cruz and the rest of them. TRUMP talks turkey and we’re all being starved out, without him.

using the photoshop image of Rubio is a bit tacky of the cruz campaign. They should have used any of the real pictures.

My point is that if you are going to believe the polls for one instance, you can’t blythely ignore them in another.

Take a look at the numbers. In the head-to-head polls, Trump consistently loses to both Hillary and Sanders. The margin between the candidates is always greater against Trump by greater margins than most of the Republican field, but especially so against Rubio , Cruz, and Kaisich.

If the polls are accurate, Trump cannot win. Only Kaisich, Rubio, or Cruz can. But Trump cannot.
