Cruz needs to get some of his eggs out of that basket. Less Bible, more Constitution.

The “..... we should support a Godly man to be president of the United States of America” message isn’t working out so well, in his own strong suit, so to speak.

but but when Cruz leaves that unGodly NH and heads down to evangelical rich SC he’ll destroy Trump and then it’s off to the races

It’s a testament to how bad of a decision it was for Cruz to pick Jeff Roe as a campaign manager and then throw his own integrity down the toilet by doubling down over and over again on Roe’s deplorable tactics.

You are right. IMHO Ted was capable enough of winning if he had played it straight.

When you run as the squeeky clean and moral candidate.

You'd better be able to back that up.

Truth is, I don’t think Cruz can help it. That is who he is. The Dominionist comes out and he can’t leave it behind. I used to think he was putting on a lot of that, but I no longer think so.

Cruz is not at all like Reagan as a person. Reagan loved God and it showed, but he was never preachy like Cruz.

But you are right. We all love our Constitution, but you also can’t run around as if you are the only person who believes in it and expect everyone to put it into every sentence spoken.

That’s probably not the case. He was an also-ran in this race and few considered him top tier until mid-fall. I never even heard anyone mention his name until he had that moment in the CNBC debate.

I didn’t know Cruz had an inner Huckabee. Hated it then hate it now.

Exactly right.

When the Iowa fake voter violation thing came out, Ted had to decide whether to denounce it and fire Roe, or stand by his man and his dirty trick.

We know which choice me made: “It’s routine”.

For all the hype about his principles, Cruz has proven himself to be a man of low integrity when the going gets tough. He can claim to be an “outsider” all he wants, but the truth is he’s another Harvard lawyer who couldn’t even fulfil his first term in the Senate before deciding he was ready to be President.

Yep, Cruz is done based only on the people he picked to advise him.
NV and VA polls indicate he has zero chance of any Blue State pickup.
His Senate Seat is now very vulnerable to a RINO pickup.

Too late now. He already laid his eggs in that basket.

Cruz should not have played it straight and also not gone after Trump. Cruz could have stayed in the wake then when an issue like the last debate occurred he would have not had to answer for Iowa nor would he have had to deal with the Trump and Rubio accusations. if Trump went down Cruz would pick up most of Trump’s supporters.

Roe and company have killed Cruz’s bid in my opinion. (we know what an opinion is worth)

I live in in the Upstate/NC Piedmont Bible Belt and let me tell you, “evangelicals” distrust Bible-thumping politicians. They also dislike being labeled “evangelicals.”

The Bible Belt knows the country is in dire straits in every way. They know that it’s going to take a man with the fortitude and the iron will of a Stonewall Jackson or a George S. Patton to stem the bleeding.

A Sunday School teacher is not what is needed at this time in our history. Trump 2016.

Cruz despising the thought of being Trump’s VP also hurt him. I was rooting for him as #2 until that happened, then I didn’t want him at all. Trump Cruz would have been a great team, Cruz put an end to that.
