It was discontinued in December 1971 and its members were reclassified as Class 4-F.” He was transferred to 4F in his last one as required. So, the upshot is, he could have been called but was not AND did not enlist either.
Now then, Clinton, elected twice, was a conscientious objector I believe or he fled the country, I forget which. I don't see anyone else on the stage as a candidate with any military experience either. So, what is the big deal here.
BTW, I enlisted in 68 at the conclusion of my 2S deferment which like the Donald was available. I had been rejected by the air force in 65 for medical reasons but the Army seems to take anyone walking I guess so I enlisted.

I'm sure the GOP establishment will also use the "draft dodger" smear against Trump. It's funny how draft deferments make Trump a "draft dodger," while Dick Cheney's half-dozen or more deferments during the Vietnam War never prevented him from being a hero and icon to the GOP establishment.
