Trey Gowdy, a South Carolina congressman who supports Marco Rubio, called for Ted Cruz to repudiate the most recent bit of "underhanded tactics" ahead of the South Carolina primary.
"In the last week, we have seen a systematic effort by Sen. Cruz and his allies to spread false information and outright lies in the hopes of winning votes by appealing to our lowest common denominator," Gowdy said. "Now, Its been reported that a fake Facebook page has been used to fool South Carolinians into thinking that I no longer support Marco Rubio and that I'm instead supporting Ted Cruz.
"Nothing could be further from the truth and I'm demanding that Sen. Cruz and his campaign repudiate these dishonest and underhanded tactics," Gowdy continued. "We can have a debate about the future of our party and our country. But we need not leave our integrity behind."
In the Facebook post at hand by a page titled "Trey Gowdy Prayers," it says that the most recent debate "revealed [Rubio's] total lack of integrity, intillect and foresight," before switching the faux endorsement to Cruz.

Gowdy has been a big disappointment. Big talker , little doer.
Nope, not in the least but there is no doubt under an pretended imagination that Trump is a conservative or ever has been. He is a liberal and always has been an NYC liberal. Through his decades of statements and actions and anyone willing to support him must share those very same values. Actions carry much stronger than words and something the Don has been a master at is saying what the people like to hear

This is so bizarre! The local talk jock is speaking about the underhanded pranks seen from the Canadian lately. A caller phoned in - a Cruzer, who claimed this to be coming from the media rather than the candidates themselves. We would hope Cruz would come out and publicly clean the slate. Sad situation which will backfire on him big time if it doesn’t end soon. Cruz, please do the right thing. For your country and for your voters who might still support you. They seek someone who would fill them with pride. Your shenanigans scarcely do that. Or is all the Beck’s Fault?
UPDATE (3:24 p.m.): Responding to Gowdy's comments, Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler criticized the Rubio surrogate for "throwing around wild accusations without any evidence whatsoever," pointing specifically to the Facebook page, which he said the Cruz campaign had nothing to do with
Show me where Gowdy accused the Cruz campaign of erecting the facebook post. I don't see it in the OP.

Thanks. I know it gets heated around here. However it shakes out, Trump or Cruz, I hope when the dust settles everyone will just get on board with crushing whoever the Dems put up.
Once there is a GOP nominee I’m going to just mindwipe every post I’ve read during this whole process and not hold any grudges, LOL.
Yeah that is it, a post on a vague facebook page, apparently going back to the year 2010, when Cruz was plotting that Goudy would endorse Rubio for President one day. This obviously is a plan by the evil mastermind on the Cruz campaign. Done knowing they would have to deny it, bwahahahahaha.

Too little background information here. Impossible at this point to ascertain who is behind this latest dirty trick. Could be anybody at all. Before hurling a “j’accuse”, I will await more facts, if any are to be had.
A fake FB page would be little compared to data mining *other people’s information* off their supporters’ FB ‘friends lists’ & even off their cell phones.
Cruz has some seriously nefarious associates in this campaign.

He knew what these people were when he hired them. It’s WHY he hired them.
Especially Jeff Roe, those 2 CIA guys & that whatever-analytica person who is involved with one of his PACs. I’m sure there are others.
Cruz is BAD NEWS.
Then, He was the only Republican on the Committee to vote against any of the articles of impeachment (the second count of perjury in the Paula Jones case).
In 1997, he took part in an abortive coup against House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Trey is following right in his footsteps.
