Perhaps character never mattered to you. Conservatives have always had a different view of things.
Oddly enough, "charactermatters" was once a keyword on this forum. Oddly enough, "character_matters" was once a screen-name on this forum. It's kinda funny, really.

You elect professional politicians and lawyers, both professional liars, then yak about how "character matters".
If it really mattered you would reelect nobody. You would primary out every person currently in office. It not only doesn't happen but there is a major meltdown when anyone who is not a professional politician and/or lawyer tries to run for office.
