I disagree with #2 - engaging in the War of Ideas is crucial. I had many successful confrontations not in the sense that they renounced their hatred but in the sense that their arguments were being destroyed, withered by criticism, and I see public confrontation as a necessity.
OK, but mystery remains. What the blazes is “BDS”? It was in the title, and referred to a couple times in the text, but nowhere could it be determined in that context what “BDS” was supposed to mean. Taken from “Brown Shirts”? Some kind of “derangement syndrome”? If so, what does the “B” stand for, and why?
From what I gather, this piece was a short synopsis of how to counter being bullied and intimidated, good advice in any era and for just about any minority that does not seek supremacy, but only to be left alone to pursue their own higher aspirations.
Killing or enslavement of others is not in any way, shape, or manner a “higher aspiration”. This is a short course in how resist those who do wish to kill or enslave others.
