In Saturday night’s debate, Ted Cruz took Donald Trump’s longstanding… and current… support for Planned Parenthood, hung it around Trump’s neck, set it on fire (metaphorically) and chased Trump through the streets. It was a horrific example of a blustering bully called out on his own record and being made to own it. If you haven’t seen it, you owe it to yourself to check it out:
Now Cruz has followed this up with an attack directly linking Trump to Planned Parenthood and the Center for Medical Progress investigative videos.
TRANSCRIPT
VO:Ted Cruz and I approve this message.
REPORTER: In between sips of wine and bite of salad a Planned Parenthood doctor discusses getting money for tissue from aborted fetuses.
MEGYN KELLY cLIP: Harvesting the organs of aborted fetuses for money…
VO: Planned Parenthood treat the unborn like another form of currency and yet some politicians still defend them.
DONALD TRUMP: Planned Parenthood serves a good function.
SEAN HANNITY CLIP: With the debt we have should we even give them a penny?
DONALD TRUMP: We have to look at the positive.
VO: Donald Trump is just plain wrong
Trump can’t run from this. He’s trying to bluster his way through it with the “women’s health” bullsh** but 86% of Planned Parenthood’s revenue comes directly from elective abortions. Abortions on demand. Abortions with no underlying medical reason other than inconvenience.
As the New York Times notes:
Takeaway
Starting the ad with newscasts on the videos gives the accusations a more authentic, trusting feel and grabs the viewers' attention more than using a narrator. It also builds the case against Planned Parenthood before linking Mr. Trump to it, while subtly pointing to a similarity with Mrs. Clinton, a pariah to many South Carolina Republican voters. But perhaps most effectively, the ad highlights Mr. Trump's position on a hot-button social issue that he has taken as a candidate, and not from his past, to attack him.
....”we can stop giving PP tax dollars to fund it and Trump wants to do that”.....
What? 85% of PP business comes from abortion procedures. ...his flip now is to cease funding until they stop doing abortions....til tomorro when he’ll change it again..
We’re supposed to look at Ted’s halo or something here.
The problem is that the halo has holes in it.
Trump’s “more reasonable” approach might actually put more of a damper on abortion than the current rigid doctrinaire version of Cruz can. Abortion problems are ultimately love problems, or rather lack-of-love problems.
DONEald. Everyone hasn't lost their minds.
It wasn't 9 pages. In reality, it was 9 points, 18 sentences total, debunking Cruz's abundant lying.
I know you support Cruz but you really just can't go around making things up ... no matter that Cruz does on a daily basis.
Cruz lied and the 9th Commandment died ... or what's the use of having faith if you can't pick and choose the parts you want to follow.
You have to understand that everything that was done to those children was legal.
And yet - they persevered.
I would be proud to name them as my children.
There's a caveat - I believe in fair play, but when someone's cheating, I'll put a thumb on the scale in a heartbeat. And dare the cheater to do something about it. :)
The clips are from a pro life magazine. Trump has said a thousand times he’s against tax dollars funding PP’s abortion services. Period.
Choose to believe, or don’t, I really do not care.
The bottom line is according to heritage.org PP performs 1 out of 3 abortions. So even if PP ceased to exist and their 300,000 patients disappeared, some 600,000 (+/-) abortions would continue to occur each year.
>>>”The abortion aspect of Planned Parenthood should not be funded.”
You don’t seem to realize it is not funded now. There would be no difference under Trump here.
You, and Trump, seem to think you can give federal money to PP and it doesn’t support their abortion mission.
Why not just answer the simple question I asked?
They were BEYOND courageous.
I weep for them every time I remember them.
Well, THAT'S gonna leave a mark... :)
85% that’s great news! They’ll be shut down once Trump pulls their funding!
Abortion is what PP does, fund them and you fund abortion. The rest is PP's scam.
He won’t.
I want to know what Cruz glued to that porn stars butt that he puts in his commercials. Teddy is a dirty dirty preacher man.
**************************
Wise up. A Cruz PAC hired a production company to produce the ad. That company put out a call for actors. The woman was one selected. After the ad aired, someone recognized her as previously being in some soft porn films. The ad was then pulled. ......Cruz wasn’t involved.
I have no problem with any of those things you state Cruz has done....none whatsoever.
You got it wrong
will Red State ever get GOPe Dirty Sanchez imprint off their top lip?
Because you've confused our opinions on Free Republic for reality.

As I said - go perform a "citizen's arrest" of Teh Evil Abortionists.
You Fellow Majority will Rise Up in your defense when the Authorities come for you.
Or not.
TedState has got the Dirty Sanchez!
That is not true
I was around pre Roe
It was fairly uncommon in illegal states which btw was the vast majority of states
High estimates were 10-15,000 a year illegal abortions
Not millions
That is like NOW HAG propaganda
Trumps premise (as well as the rest of the Democrats) is that giving them funding doesn't fund abortion. That is complete BS. Federal funding goes towards paying rent, purchasing medical supplies, paying the electric bill, and hiring staff - all of which are used to perform abortions. You can't sanitize your funding like that. They only have one bank account, one business office, one set of books.Planned Parenthood themselves openly admitted that if federal funding was cut, then clinics would be forced to close. Care to guess how many abortions closed clinics perform? Zero. Thus, federal funding pays for abortions, and has been doing so for decades now.
