Rush Limbaugh: Let’s face it, Trump sounded like a liberal Dem in some things he said at debate
Hot Air ^ | February 15, 2016 | Allahpundit

Here we are in a Republican primary, and Donald Trump, out of the blue, starts blaming the Bush family for 9/11, for knowing that the intelligence was made up, that there never were any weapons of mass destruction, and they knew it, Trump said.

Michael Moore doesn’t even say that…

On the stage at a Republican debate, Donald Trump defended Planned Parenthood. Not the abortion stuff, he said, but the fact that they do great things for women’s health. Folks, there were a number of occasions where Donald Trump sounded like the Daily Kos blog, where Donald Trump sounded like the Democrat Underground, sounded like any average host on MSNBC.

I think we can come to a consensus that whatever we do ought to be about what can be defended as being true and good in the most absolute sense possible.

This in fact is what used to be called classical liberalism, the thinking form of liberalism whose name was eventually hijacked for the oxymoronic, self contradictory doctrinaire (and hence, illiberal) form.

Yeah I hear you... it’s like how can this uncouth ruffian possibly deserve this.

Perhaps he pitched best to “We The People” — maybe that is how.

Nothing wrong with that but we have plenty here who are either nominal Christians ....usually born Catholic and kinda lapsed and we have a lot of Jews who sure as heck don’t want to hear the gospel from their candidate.....and I don’t blame them

Standing up as devout in conviction and proselytizing from the stump are two entirely different things

I’d be wary of the latter right now ...people don’t want you to save their souls when you’re running for office

It’s like funerals where the pastor walks on water too much and rather than commiserating over the deceased and celebrating their passage to the side of God they exploit that time of grief to try to save souls and hone their evangelical axe

I never much liked that but I’ve seen some Missionary Baptist preachers in rural Tennessee give it a go even up to an invitational by the casket

Poor taste

Politics and proselytizing...it’s like shrimp and milkshakes

Doesn’t go good together

Maybe, but it also sounds like Michael Moore is one of Trump’s advisers.

If you’d have told me a year ago I’d be for Trump I would have laughed

I was all Cruz then and will support him too should he win

I want to see Trump shake it up

Some dearly departeds have actually asked for gospel preaching at their funerals, however — I will.

I really enjoyed reading your analysis. Thanks for writing it.

Ted is about 2 decades too late to convince evangelicals of his bonafides as a True Christian. Every time I see him speak, visions of Jimmy Swaggart & Jim Baker interrupt my thought processes. And like you said, with so many others in the race to siphon off his evangelicals, it’s just not going to happen. So much for his 3-year long “cultivation” of tea partiers, eh?

Two months ago, I was hoping Ted Cruz would realize he cannot win this time and either 1) play nice with Trump and wait for his appointment to VP, the SC, or Attorney General, or 2) drift off into the sunset on his horse and work out his career frustrations as a high-priced Texas attorney.

Instead of choosing one of the wiser career paths above, he is quickly burning his bridges by hiring Roe and playing dirty. This either means he is not a person of good character, willing to sell his soul for a fast track to stardom, or it means his judgment is seriously flawed. Either way, it proves he’s just not capable of being the president we need to get us out of this mess.

It also means that he’s perfectly capable of giving his delegates to Rubio or Bush, especially after the GOPe offers him prestige and revenge against Trump. In fact, his bridge-burning with Trump has taken such a harsh tone, it probably means the GOPe has already promised him something.

Unless Trump sweeps the primaries, it’s Brokered Convention, here we come....

My, you are a touchy elitist yourself, condemning someone who doesn’t spend his money the way you want. That is one of the definitions for a liberal. Now that you have outed yourself, Rush would never, ever judge you on how you spend your money. He understands freedom and liberty enough to know that the way you spend your money is your business and nobody else. He will always support your freedom to spend as you wish.

maybe, but i give him little guy credit. i can fault his apparent love and loyalty for the gop, but i know that hard leftist dems really hate his guts. and that he was a lone conservative voice on radio for a long time. he pioneered journalistic compilation to both get closer to the truth and expose the constant lies of commission and ommission. that is a big contribution, imo. we use that here on FR, the difference being each reader does his own compilation.

i mean, i get it. the accretion of power into two opposing camps is almost inevitable given human nature. the snare is very attractive, you want to think you have power. but when even the two parties become co-conspirators, it’s done. you’ve got to come out to destablize the system. it’s the way i look at it. and yes, it’s going to be painful. that’s why i’m grateful for trump eventhough he’s not really a conservative and i don’t know what his motivation is; he’s shaking the uniparty to it’s core.

Yes, but he’s MY ass, and my ass wants to pulverize the democrats in November as much as his ass does. :-)

Think of him as a “Have Ass, Will Travel” kind of deal. A hired gun who pays for his own out-of-pocket expenses.

Actually back in the day in Sacramento when Rush was a nobody, doing late night, he used to hit the back door and do a doobie before going back on the air...at least that’s the story I have from folks in the know back in the day.

Anyway, one day. Rush hits on the conservative talk which was non-existent at the time and the rest is history. Not knocking him for creating his niche, but folks have to realize its all infotainment. Just a means to sell soap. If the soap stopped selling during his time slot, then trained monkeys pounding tamborines would replace him....as long as THEY so the soap.

All the so-called pontificators are just that...soap sellers. If you like that brand of soap then buy it...I hear that LUX Flakes are the best on rayon stockings.

The Republican Party, before the Bushies took over in 1988 was not a “war party”. Reagan was a “Peace through Strength”. When Trump says, he’s a “very militaristic guy but he never wants to have to use it”, that is Reagan’s philosophy.

The War Party started with Bush’s September 11, 1990, New World Order pronouncement by Bush #41.

Prior to that time, Democrats started wars and Republicans ended them.

It is only the last 28 years, while the Bush family controlled the Republican Party, that we became the war party.

Conservatives, never really liked the Bushes. They were considered “liberals” by the Reagans and others in the party.

As a populist he is going to see who did the bleeding and dying in Iraq and for what? To come home to a country that won’t care for their wounds (the va) and has shipped their jobs overseas or given them to illegals.

The whole thing was a scam and folks were suckered in by their love of country and their patriotism. Global elites made money off of it but what did the common man get? Nothing.

If bush really cared as much as he pretended he would have made damn sure the va was in tip top shape when he left office. He didn’t.

Talk is cheap and that is all the Republican Party has given us for 20 years. They can go to hell.

Here, Here!

All of this is planned by Trump. He ripped the scab off the Iraq War and it sends everyone into a tizzy. Republicans have been afraid to talk about it and Bush’s role hoping it would go away. It would have too, if Yeb! would have kept his mouth shut. All Trump said was that 9-11 happened on Bush’s watch (he did not keep us safe). He did not blame Bush for 9-11, just pointed out the stupid statement Yeb! tried to rest his laurels on.

As for the Iraq war....where are the WMD’s? Okay. someone posts an article that a couple of hundred antique shells dribbled out over the years...But if they were there, don’t you think we would have seen pictures of the stockpiles? They weren’t there.

I used to defend Bush and the Iraq war with friends who were conservative. They whole thing was a fraud. AND WE DIDN”T EVEN GET THE OIL! THE CHINESE DID! What a scam.

And now this whole Syrian thing...all so the Saudis can run a pipe line up to the Med so the Russians can sell more oil to Europe...Jeez...Let the Russians sell some oil...what the hell. Let them make some money..You know why? Cause countries go to war when they got nothing left to loose. Let them get fat and happy and rolling in borscht.

And for the US....Let us rebuild our factories and use our oil for this country. Let us use our resources (iron, coal, etc) for our country. Let us get a real economy instead of one where we sell burgers to each other.

If Trump is the man to do it...then so be it. If Cruz can deliver...do be it. Frankly, I am getting tired of the whole how many conservatives can fit on the head of a pin. I an not going to hell or less an american...I am not a yellow liberal or whatever you want to call me because I support Donald Trump. I don’t post on DU ...I am not a member of Code Pink because I think Bush lied to get us in a war. So get off you high horse and get real.

This is a battle between Main Street and Wall Street. The elites are doing their best to make certain that the feeding trough is not yanked away.

DO you know—or do you even care..that the powers that be are inchyes away from yanking cash from society? After that a bail in from your bank accounts. Do you know what that means? Will Cruz prevent that....Heck...he won’t even be going to the convention. And Trump most very likely will have his delegates stolen away under Rule 37. Why do you think Yeb! says he will get the nomination? Because its all a fraud. All of it. Cruz is just shill splitter like Rubio, Kaisch and all the rest that fell away...they are all there to protect Bush. Cruz is there to get you all jacked up they are throwing you a bone...but in the end you will fall in line and come next October just about all of you here will be posting the postive points of Yeb! and how you hope he can beat HIllary....fresh from beating her indictment.

And in the end, it won’t matter to the big money boys on who wins. If Yeb! wins they get 55% of your hard earned dollars. If Hillary wins, they get 45% of your dollars. In the end—they get their dollars.

Face it...we have been had. Maybe Trump wants to stop it...or maybe he is a joke...at this point I really don’t know anymore. Maybe I need to go listen to some Glen Miller and relax.

Have a good night FRiends.

P.S. If you are a Cruz supporter—good for you. All is well. He’s not my candidate and I can’t stand his Marjoe Gortner routine, but if you like him, more power to you. For the Trump supporters. I hope he wins...For those that liked Trump and turned. Quite Frankly you aren’t seeing his game. But that is another post for another time.

Something is wrong with your copy of the constitution if trump checked any boxes.. He has, will be a liberal. Scared of a girl reporter, hiding behind vets and throwing a rock party.. He’s gonna sue his way to the presidency.. Sounds like an al gore Chelsea Clinton mix. I thought he was ok, supported him a couple weeks, then I remembered 2000.. Trump is the only democrat who can win. Glad I woke up quickly, guess the rent a crowd is still drooling over that whiny dude. He cries like he needs a diaper change. Hiding, running.. Anything but leading with the constitution.

Trump saying Planned Parenthood does wonderful things is like saying concentration camps gave people a roof over their heads! Unacceptable and a deal breaker for me.

At best, saying that "Planned Parenthood does wonderful things" is a colossal failure of due diligence regarding the fight for the unborn.

He simply has not thought through his position regarding the unborn and Planned Parenthood's role in this holocaust, so is not worthy of consideration for the presidency.

Yes, that’s bothering me too. Rush Limbaugh, of all people, is now a GOPe shill? The man who was hounded out of being part owner of a football team by the left, including Congressional rats? (And that’s his own money which he earned that he was going to spend. Since when was class warfare a conservative value? Fighting against crony capitalism is one thing, because it’s not true capitalism-it’s actually more akin to socialism in ways-but since when do conservatives resent people who suceed on their own merits? )
