‘Millions’ of Republicans Say Iraq War was a ‘Disaster’: Laura Ingraham Supports Trump
Impulse today ^ | Feb.15, 2016 | Derek Flynn

Laura Ingraham, who is a conservative radio host, gave a warning to the GOP presidential candidates that they should stop defending the actions of President George W. Bush because "millions and millions" of Republican voters believe the Iraq War that he got the United States into was a mistake.

During the CBS hosted GOP Republican presidential debate last Saturday night, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump accused George W. Bush of lying about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction.

"Obviously, the war in Iraq was a big, fat mistake, all right?" Trump said. "They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction. There were none, and they knew there were none."

These comments by Trump come just two days before George W. Bush goes out to campaign for his younger brother, Jeb Bush, in South Carolina.

The hosts of Fox News were told by Ingraham that Trump's criticism of Bush was risky, but also a very calculated strategy.

"He's thinking that there are millions and millions of Republican voters who have had the luxury of time to look back on whether the war in Iraq was really a good idea," Ingraham explained. "And all the money we spent, and all the men and women we lost. And I think a lot of Republicans -- the establishment doesn't like to hear this -- millions and millions of Americans probably agree with Trump."

"This was a disaster for the United States," Ingraham added. "We've lost influence in the Middle East; we've toppled dictators who probably had their finger on the dice of what was going to be a flood of tumult. And he's betting that people aren't going to just reject the Republican Party of today, they're going to reject the Republican Party of the Bushes.'"

"If they think they are going to re-litigate the Iraq war throughout the United States in this primary process and that's going to end well for them, I don't think it is."

Biggest blunder in U.S. History.

You mean worse than obummer's second term? Worse than the election of jimmy carter?

I wish the argument would be along the lines of the early withdrawal by 0bama for political points. That, imo, should be the starting point for united Republican candidates to concentrate on. But now we’re re-litigating the Bush administration instead of focusing on 0bama’s disaster.

Obama isn't running. W's Brother is.

***blaming Bush for 9/11?***

All I heard Trump say was that Bush did fail to protect us because 9/11 happened, after Jeb stated during the debate that his brother protected America.

I think Trump is going to widen his lead with this stuff. Not only in the primary, the general too.

“I think Trump is going to widen his lead with this stuff.”

Of course, attacking from the left means he’s going after the democrat vote.

The war was a success but we left about 100 years too early. Our forces did a fine job evicting Saddam.

And with fewer casualties in a 10 year involvement than the first weeks of the invasion of Europe in June 1944.

Militarily it was a well executed operation overall. Politically the opposition to W screwed him every chance they got. We let them.

The media skewered all of us with disinformation. We let them

The same was true in Afghanistan.

I served under Nixon, carter, Reagan and W (rejoined reserves after 9/11).

Yes, I do miss W.

If my memory of history serves, the USA lost more troops in invasions and occupations of Honduras and the Philippines a century ago, when the country was half the size it was. No one talks about those now.

the mistake was not understanding this country is now highly our own left hates traditional America, how divided we now are, and how this country has lost a unified sense of itself and its culture. Bush’s thinking was from a different era.

Future imperial wars will take the form of Clinton and OBama’s destruction of Libya and Syria. Murky and unreported.

The USA can not “win” such wars again in the future. Its best we don’t engage in them.

You know when it first started I said....smart. Establish dominance and then put a base in right in the middle of the trouble spots. I was envisioning Our presence in Getmany.
Then the BS started and look what they did
I knew we were in deep caca then.

“A friend of mine lost a son there. For what?”

For less than nothing and I am so sorry.

Fact is, and people want to forget this, Bush didn’t do much of a job caring for our military and vets. Over use of the guard was bad enough...does anyone remember how bad the facilities at forts were when they came home?

CBS News, Wed. April 30, 2008

Army Shamed By Shoddy Barracks
The Army was publicly shamed after an outraged parent posted photos on Youtube depicting dilapidated conditions at the barracks of Fort Bragg. Bush/Cheney were much more concerned with building state of the art immigration detention centers for illegal aliens.

Me, too, sheana....I tried to keep the ‘let’s fight them over there, instead of here’ line in my thoughts and support our president.....but at some point reality has to smack you right up side the head.

Ya, we should have stay in Iraq decades longer, and spent trillions more and offered more up more to die. Who gives damn if it looted America and left it in total decline. Lets keep things business as usual with these disastrous foreign policies.

Go Bush~ Go Cruz

Exactly! The Evangelic vote is about 20% of the electorate. Half of those like Trump. Cruz isn’t going to get elected with 10% of the electorate. Even for those who LOVE him and his preachy lawyereeze, it is NOT gonna happen! It’s going to take some dems and lots of independents to win this thing.

Laura Ingraham a great Christian Lady, really. Lets look at this great Christian Lady. A far from unattractive woman who is now close to or over 50 who has never been married, with the adoptive kid kind of thing. This is as close to a Boston marriage as you can get. To use a term from another gender, me thinks that this Christian Lady puts from the rough.
