Truth is that there are a lot of factions in the party that don't quite like each other. But that's why a party is always a coalition of sorts. You join with those with whom you disagree on some things to oppose those with whom you disagree on everything.

Otherwise, you become balkanized and your opponents run the table. The Founding Fathers knew that the colonies would have to focus on their similarities rather than their differences if they were going to have any chance to gain independence.

Those who sow dissent are simply doing the work of our enemies.
