Donald Trump: Planned Parenthood ‘Does Do Wonderful Things But Not As It Relates to Abortion’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) challenged Donald Trump on his view of Planned Parenthood during the GOP debate in South Carolina.

Cruz charged that Trump supports taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood.

"Where did I support it?" Trump asked repeatedly.

"You supported it when we were battling over defunding Planned Parenthood," Cruz said in return.

Trump said Cruz's statements were "a lot of lies."

"You said, 'Planned Parenthood does wonderful things and we should not defund it,'" Cruz pointed out.

"It does do wonderful things but not as it relates to abortion," Trump asserted. "Excuse me. Excuse me, there are wonderful things having to do with women's health ... But not when it comes to abortion."

Since you posted on the thread that I had posted on, thought you may have read a some of the posts on this thread.

Did not know how many of those posting you lumped into group that "shows the stupidity of the anti Trump people."

Appreciate you including the origin of PP. Most people do not care and don't want to know.

Do think that evangelicals and I would add conservatives have been strung along.

My posts were posted in an effort to get people to think about America's abortion victims!

As of today some 58,720,000 innocent babies have been placed on the butcher's table.

Think as a whole you post was against politicians. There we can agree and could post a lot more.

I hadn’t taken note of your particular posts per se but I think abortion is HORRIBLE. What was exposed about PP recently had my stomach so turned I couldn’t read the details about without feeling nauseous.

What Trump said about PP at the debate was immediately distorted and taken out of context by the Trump haters because that’s what they do. I have no idea if you were one of these people.

Pretty disingenuous to attack Trump who has no control over it when there were two senators up there on that stage that were part of the senate that just funded planned parenthood for two more years.

Not trying to start an argument are you saying both Senators voted for the budget? The two Rubio and Cruz, I think they are the only two there. Saw one report where Cruz voted against the budget vote in December but Rubio missed. Am I misinformed?

Thanks again and am glad you feel the way you do about the carnage of our innocents. Seems to be a very small minority these days.

Rubio skipped out and Cruz voted no. Rubio is a sleeze. If Cruz held abortion as such a major campaign talking point, shouldn’t he have done more than just vote no. Where were his leadership skills? He couldn’t get his fellow republicans in a majority held senate to get on board with him and he wants to be POTUS? Of course it all goes back to my former posts on why abortion will never be defunded. He’s just blustering about it for the benefit of the evangelicals and his campaign.

I do agree with you on the carnage of the innocents but we can find comfort knowing where their souls are. I wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of those committing this carnage when they have to face our maker.

Not sure Cruz could win the Congress over when he went there and stood up to those that were co-opted by the leadership.

To me he stood against the establishment that is being so disliked and put down today.

I was under the impression we wanted the people we voted for to stand up against the establishment. He did that.

He has said he would make a stand against the pResidents nomination for the SC. If he does, think some here hate (and I do not often use that word), hate him or what he stands for they will not give him credit for that stand.

Wonder how many of the existing Senators still believe we should adhere to the Constitution.
