Obama urges Russia to stop bombing 'moderate' Syria rebels

President Barack Obama urged Russia on Sunday [Feb. 14, 2016] to stop bombing "moderate" rebels in Syria in support of its ally Bashar al-Assad, a campaign seen in the West as a major obstacle to latest efforts to end the war.

Major powers agreed on Friday to a limited cessation of hostilities in Syria but the deal does not take effect until the end of this week and was not signed by any warring parties - the Damascus government and numerous rebel factions fighting it.

Russian bombing raids directed at rebel groups are meanwhile helping the Syrian army to achieve what could be its biggest victory of the war in the battle for Aleppo, the country's largest city and commercial hub before the conflict.

The Kremlin said President Vladimir Putin and Obama had agreed to intensify cooperation to implement the agreement on Syria struck in Munich.

After a phone call between Putin and Obama, the Kremlin said both gave a "positive valuation" to the Munich meeting.

The Kremlin statement made clear Russia was committed to its campaign against Islamic State and "other terroristic organizations", an indication that it would also be targeting groups in western Syria where jihadists such as al Qaeda are fighting Assad in close proximity to rebels deemed moderate by the West.

Russia says the "cessation" does not apply to its air strikes, which have shifted the balance of power toward Assad.

The White Mosque protects al Qaeda more than
any American. And the GOP is silent (SSDD).

A radical Muslim wants to kill you.

A moderate Muslim wants a radical Muslim to kill you.

Rhetoric aside, Russia is only aggravating the situation.

Obama's the one going around stirring up revolutions trying to remove secular leaders and replace them with radical Muslims (Muslim Brotherhood). Egypt, Libya, Syria... etc.

When there was a shot at a revolution starting in Iran a few years back, Obama stayed silent... they have radical Islamic leaders already, so Obama passed on the opportunity to stir up a potent revolution there Why?

Obama pretends that he's above "nation building", and yet that's exactly what he's been doing in several places. What's unique about his "nation building" is that instead of trying to spread Democracy he's trying to spread radical Islam.

The Reality Of Saudi Arabia Going To War: They Will Lose 50% of Their Forces In The First Seconds of the First Engagement ...

Their forces are trained for internal security only. The first flight of their jets will likely not return from their first engagement. The second flight will be shot down as soon as they are above the horizon.

Yes, I see SA warplanes have actually now arrived. A development should make things even more interesting, along with the massing of forces in Northern SA.

Great question! In my mind, I still see a picture of that young lady the Iranian secret police shot dead in the streets of Tehran. I think that's when I finally had zero doubt who's side zero was on, in this battle for civilization.

“Obama urges Russia to stop bombing ‘moderate’ Syria rebel.”’

What is obama doing saying “Pretty please?” That’s about his speed except for the Republicans and the Israeli’s, then he finds that he has a backbone.

Bingo!

Behind every Mid East dictator, there are Islamic freedom fighters who rape children and burn women alive - and those are the “moderates”. The idea of friendly forces is like the mythical unicorn of which idiot westerners pine for: that Muslims will cherish democracy - we just have to give it to them.

No one has a solution, but the Asads, Mubaraks, Qadaffi’s and the Shahs are better than ISIS, Al Queda, taliban and the rest of the traveling jihadist caliphate freak show.

I remember when the Iraq war was still going on I made a post of Syria thinking the Magog invasion a BIT prematurely probably. A FReeper in good standing( and still is) threw some firey darts at me asking basically how this little Syrian thing is even relevant. I said, just wait, wait a couple years. Call me a mythic Bible Thumper escatology lover( and fear) but Syria had all the makings of prophecies come true. Isiah 17 just shows Isaiah had a serious direct line to the G!D who sees the end from the beginning, and he was murdered for it( allegedly sawed in two with a wood saw).

Nevertheless who will win? This is spilling over to all ME regions, everyone is choosing sides and every nation has tried alienating Israel( including our very government) and Jerusalem more than ever has become a cup of trembling..just my opinion?
