Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz got into a heated exchange about immigration reform at the Republican presidential debate on Saturday—with Cruz firing back in Spanish in an attempt to get in the last word.
Cruz had again accused Rubio of supporting “amnesty” in the U.S. Senate, accusing the junior Senator from Florida of saying so in an interview on the Spanish-language television network Univision.
That’s when things got nasty—and bilingual.
“I don’t know how he knows what I said on Univision because he doesn’t speak Spanish,” Rubio retorted.
Cruz then responded in Spanish, taunting Rubio. “Ahora mismo, díselo en Español si tu quieres” the Senator from Texas said, which roughly translates to “Right now, say it in Spanish. If you want.”

“Meaning that people who do not speak Spanish are somehow inferior?”
That’s what I got from it. Cruz had a chance to call him out on that, but he let his ego get in the way and he had to show off his Spanish.
Well .. I don’t agree .. Actually, when Ted answered Rubio back .. IN SPANISH .. I think Rubio was caught.
Because .. Ted’s ability to listen to Rubio’s Spanish speech, means that Ted knew Rubio had said one thing in English and another thing in Spanish.
Now, Rubio can’t hide from his deceit.
Trump
Rubio was saying that he didn’t know spanish because Rubio had a Spanish forum and Cruz did step in it when he mentioned the spanish show. This won’t get any traction. I feel like I speak Spanish because I can walking into McDonalds and order a cheeseburger, french fires and large coke. Cruz probably has a few phrases he can say but Rubio was probably right that he can’t speak Spanish fluently.
It’s sickening listening to Jeb and Kasich....they both want everything to be and wonderful and not talk about all the misery that has happened and is happening to the country. The middle class and lower class has had so much of their lives either ruined or substantially less than it was....and most of it is because of their heartless, greedy elitist donors!!!
they both probably take a quick trip to go ride their polo ponies and play a bit....kasiches is the one with the US postal service symbol on it....in honor of his dear dad....Scr@w both of them
the dumbest comment Rubio had.. just wished Cruz could have kept going for another 30 seconds of Spanish so it would have buried the bell boy..
I wish none of them spoke Spanish.
(Sigh!)
.
Major “Oh shit” moment for Rubio.
Now Hillary is getting in on the Spanish!

Necesitamos una presidenta que pueda defendernos de las propuestas de los republicanos. #GOPdebate
Rubio thinking he had the last word about Cruz not understanding his Univision speech.
What an idiot, not only slammed by Cruz with a quick retort in Spanish, but...
Univision??? Was that Mr. AMESTY playing to the Latinos? You’re done Rubio.
Cruz made me feel good about my Spanish. i alway thoght the accent I aquired in Mexico City was the worst. I envied the clarity of those from Columbia or even Bolivia. Now that I heard Cruz mangle it, I see it could be much worse..
Seriously.
There are some La Raza types who want Texas to go in the same direction as Canada, with USA becoming a Bilingural country.
Its like calling a black an uncle tom if they are conservative.
The latinos that are pro La Raza and want plenty of illegal immigration try that in Miami all the time, refuse to speak English at all.
Rubio proved he is latino first with that remark.
Cruz proved he is American first.
Very good comeback. But also, I don’t want a president who speaks Mexican. So far, its Bush, Cruz and Rubio. And hell, they BRAG about it.
For that was awesome swing at Rubio when he stated how did Cruz know what he said because he does not speak Spanish...TED CRUZ GOES BOOM!!!
H barely knows English..
What an idiotic response.
How many of these votes were on tap before the debate began? By any reasonable measure, this is not what I saw and heard. Even Jeb did as well as Trump. In the first half, before he reigned himself in, Trump was raving.
