Altura, we have evaluated Trump the same way you evaluated Ted.

You ignore Ted’s past. We don’t ignore Trump’s. How could we? It’s there. He doesn’t mince words about it. He simply tells us what he wants to do now. He isn’t lying to me.

I consider a guy a liar that misrepresents his past. Does Trump do that? No. He doesn’t address it. I appreciate that. He tells me what he wants to do, and I believe him. He didn’t lie to me to convince me his (political) past was “great”.

Someone else actually does. I don’t trust that person. I’m not calling you names over your support. I’m not claiming to be following the best Christian who lies. I’m going with my instincts just like you are.

I’m not trying to think ways to express your flaws, so that I can be comfortable about my decision. I simply trust Trump more.

He has proven abilities. He’s like me in certain ways, in that he hasn’t led a perfect life. He has made his mistakes and yet, in some ways is a very disciplined man.

He is what he is, and you can think I’m extremely flawed if you like. If that’s what it take to make you comfortable, go ahead.

Me? I’m comfortable with you voting for whoever you want, and I don’t need to think you’re a psychotic fanboy fake Christian and Leftist to be comfortable with my choice.

I don’t think you’re flawed at all and I’ve never seen a nasty post out of you.

I don’t know why you say I ignore Ted’s past because I’m a Texan and pretty familiar with him.

But I don’t want to argue with you.

I don’t think Trump is lying now. I just think he is doing the deal, telling people what they want to hear.

I just don’t think his principles are rock solid.

But, hey, we’re buddies anyway. I just wish the rest of the Trump supporters had your character.

I appreciate your nice response, and admit mine wasn’t so nice.

Honestly, after eight months of this, I’m a little gun-shy when folks express the idea we don’t have any questions.

Of course we do. I have them every time I support someone. Will they follow through? Does this conform to their past?

Trump is different than any other person I have voted for. He wasn’t a politician nine months ago.

How do I judge him. One way to do it is to evaluate his past comments and actions. And with Trump those are very colorful, not complimentary by a Conservative’s standards, to say the least.

Was he an established politician doing those things? No. Was he lying to his constituents when he did those things? No. Had he established a public policy on the record that others would evaluate and stand behind? No.

He was a businessman and public figure that had snap opinions and he expressed them. He ever included those opinions in books, so it’s not entirely fair to say he never sat down and gave consideration to these issues. He did. Then he decided to run for president and for the first time he had to sit down and look at the issues and determine what ideology he wanted to support. He had to come up with a core that everything would tie back to. Can’t stand for this on this issue, if I’m going to take that for the other issue. Things had to mesh.

As a businessman, I don’t think he views obtrusive government to the path to a good deal. On issue after issue, it seems Trump has moved right over time.

I’m glad of that. He didn’t do it in a few weeks. We can look at abortion, gun rights, health care, over time he moved right.

I trust him as much as I trust any politician. If he does 25% of what he says he wants to, I’ll be 25% farther ahead than I was under Bush.

Bush was a big fat waste of time. Eight years and the man left so much on the table, it collapsed.

We need a CEO type to get things under control, and that spells Trump to me.

As for character, I have my good days and my bad days.

We all do.

Once again, thanks for the nice note.
