This is a story which has cropped up in the past, but it's making the rounds again this month. Donald Trump gave an interview to the French magazine Valleurs Actuelles this month where he weighed in on how their nation has seen better days.
Both the country and its capital were criticized for sagging a bit in the modern era. Saying, "France isn't what it was" during his comments, Trump noted that the country might be in better shape if the citizens had the right to keep and bear arms.
For evidence, the man who the Weekly Standard just described as being in the driver's seat on the way to the nomination, cited the recent terror attacks and noted that he's always ready for action and that things might have gone differently if he'd been there.

How about you ask that of the 34,000 people who have a job because of Donald J. Trump?
I don't know much about how DC operates but I suspect it is just about the same as New York.
In spite of the draconian gun laws in the state and the city anyone well connected politically can get a gun permit.
It also helps if you have a couple billion dollars and can buy politicians make political donations to the "IN" crowd.
If you were going to do something to make that easier for honest people who weren't billionaires....

Why? He’s probably referring to a pocket pistol which is quick and easy to use.
That’s a great idea. I hope he gets the political momentum to do it.
Oh, they benefit quite fine that way.

A permit in NYC is less than $500. I don’t consider that expensive and a 3-6 months time frame is no big deal either.
He’s proficient with guns and so are Eric and Donald Jr.

A lot of the “gun control” vibe is “keeping the uppity people down.” Which was notably used against freedmen in the decades following their liberation in the wake of the Civil War.
Trump seems an egalitarian. The main color he knows is green. He wants America to be rolling in more of it.

Oh, I hope something like that succeeds.
Donald probably has gold plated bullets with the Trump logo on them. So even a punk can be shot in style.
