I’m actually pretty stoked this morning. We knew Trump would win but it might be his swan song.
If you discount Kasich as a real contender, and I do, Cruz came in second.
Christie and Sanders are getting out. I hope Sanders doesn’t accuse me of anything for saying that. And Christie did a good deed before leaving... he knocked Rubio out.
Fox totally subdued about Rubio this morning. Just saying that he was a good guy for not blaming anyone but himself.
Your headline is not awful ... just takes a second to understand.
Wait till the SEC primaries March 1st with that massive delegates haul. You will see where his money went.
Looking at the responses wondering,
Did you write the article?
Thanks for the post!
CANDIDATES TRUMP BEAT IN NEW HAMPSHIRE SPENT $108.2 MILLION COMPARED TO TRUMP’S $3.7 MILLION.
Now, there’s a headline to consider.
It’s also interesting to note that both Trump and Cruz spent 27 days in NH, only Carson spent less time there.
Trump spent the money he has received in donations. Perfectly proper for him to do, but let’s dispel with the false notion he is spending his own money.
I can’t wait to hear Trump paid zero taxes all these years. Does it make you wonder why he holds back releasing his tax returns until the end of summer.
Is Trump spending anything? I thought he was relying on big rallies and the fact that he gets a lot of free press.
It costs a helluva lot more than what he got in donations to run that campaign. He is spending his money, Ted is spending Goldman-Sachs money.
To be completely accurate, Trump is spending money borrowed from Goldman Sachs and various other Wall Street firms, to the tune of $580,000,000.
He really has very little liquid net worth left.
That Cruz campaign expenditure doesn’t include Super PAC $ that was spent on his behalf.
Your point is really good. The comparison between Yeb! and Cruz is a perfect analog for the difference between the GOPe and real conservatives. GOPe, being essentially big government liberals, throw barrels of other people’s money at problems. The worse the problem gets, the more money they throw. A conservative analyzes the problem, evaluates how much money is needed or worthwhile to apply to the problem and spends that amount. Here, Cruz understood there was limited support to be gained in a liberal northeast state and spent enough to place within the delegate lottery, surpass the two establishment heavyweights and exceed expectations. Even in the loss, he looks strong and smart and ready to tackle the next problem.
All going to the friggn MSM via adverts! Geez:-)
Trump as he kicked the crap out of all of the rest and won every demographic!
I will go by his financial reports filed each quarter. Trump is funding his campaign with donations.
He claims to be self-funding (ha) but he is relying on donations and free publicity.
If it were not for his notoriety (and I use the term advisedly) he would be dead last.
So, the losing candidates DID spend more than Cruz did, but the arithmatic seems off:
12.1 + 36.1 + 30.0 + Christie’s 30+ = more than 108 Million
But more important than the total number is the unnoticed fact that ALL OF IT went to political consultants and media and mailers and political consultants and polling groups and political consultants ... Did I mention political consultants and Washington political consultants?
THAT total going to the national and local media is what scares the political consultants and the national press corpse! It is the loss of their money (this time) to upstarts and mavericks and not-under-their-control politicians that scares them as much as anything else about next time losing control of BOTH money AND control!
We talking corporate or personal?
CANDIDATES CRUZ BEAT SPENT $72.1 MILLION IN NEW HAMPSHIRE. CRUZ SPENT $580K.Yea but he was bitch slapped by Trump and (of all people) Kasich.
No one looks at money spent, they just see loser.
Not all that unexpected.
Now he goes to Trump Country where he is 16.4% Real Clear Politics Average on February 9th, 2016.
Trump has been here in South Carolina for months.
