re: putting women in the draft

That's like a trick question. I personally don't think women should be in combat roles. It isn't just about what they are or are not capable of, it's about what's best for the most effective military. But it's a decision that belongs with the generals, not the pols. If they decide women can serve combat roles as well as men, then they should be as required to sign up for the draft as men are.

If that were to happen, there would probably be a cry to end the draft and it would become unfashionable for women to want to be combat soldiers. Would that be a bad outcome?

Did Cruz announce that all the other candidates were dropping out?

I’m not interested in trying to turn a lemon into lemonade on this issue. I want women out of close combat roles, and I don’t want women subject to the draft. Period.

As President, Ted Cruz will immediately rescind both.

Ted Cruz 2016!

In reference to your tagline, Cruz actually stood for constitutional principals on the floor of the Senate and caught a lot of flack from Rino senators for doing so. How does that stack up to Rubio and Trump?

Some years ago Rumsfeld gave some kind of medal to a Honduran soldier who fought in Iraq.

If I recall the story correctly the guys he was with were killed in the firefight and he kept returning fire till he was out of ammo. At that point he took on 3 Iraqis with a knife killing at least 1 of them and the remaining Iraqi or Iraqis decided that they had enough and fled.

Marco Robo thinks he’s running against Obama and Cruz thinks he’s running against Sanders.

If we had a draft and women were included, they would be forced into combat roles if they met the standard, Even in today's all volunteer military, a significant percentage of the men in combat units are not there voluntarily.

So do we want women forced into combat units?

They should. America does not need another establishment president, and we sure as heck don’t need a crony capitalist campaign conservative who spent his whole life until six months ago supporting left wing politicians and left wing causes.

I want someone with a proven 97%-100% conservative/pro-libery voting record!

That’s why I’m voting Ted Cruz 2016!

Even terrorists know you don’t mess with a latino in a knife fight!

The longer Hillary keeps bleeding the more likely the GOP will be running against Sanders. The Rats and the media will go to extraordinary lengths to save her but there must be some limit. The later she falls the harder to inject some other alternative to Bernie. Push come to shove, for the Rat lefties, what’s not to like about him? And from Bernie’s viewpoint who better to run against than a bombastic billionaire?! Whereas Cruz would present Bernie as a case study in liberal lunacy.

What I am saying is that if women were forced to sign up for the draft, then femnazi types would stop wanting women in combat roles. There's no logical reason for women not to be drafted, just as men are, if there are no restrictions on what they can do.

Catch them in their own quagmire.

PS: You do know what finally caused an end to the Viet Nam War? It's when the draft was made more fair with the lottery. All of a sudden, the elite cared, when it was their family and loved ones being forced into fighting the war.

Would it be inappropriate for Cruz to say “Carson is going to drop out in the near future” in a campaign debate?

When the enemy fields women in close combat he can revisit the issue.

I do not believe women should be in combat positions. But I do believe many wish to serve our country and we should enable them to do that.

However, our military needs a way to staff based on today’s requirements better. Since forever, the baseline has been one’s ability to fulfill the infantry role. But, there are many roles outside of that that are critical to the success of our troops.

Personal example: my father had a severe leg injury as a young child. Since penicillin was not around until WWII, he had multiple surgeries dealing with infections while growing up. When WWII started, he was 4F. All three branches at the time turned him down.

To his death, he would say “they could have let me do something. I could have cut troop paychecks or bought supplies stateside and freed someone else up”. He just wanted to serve his country.
