Donald Trump has seized on Jeb Bush, and he's not letting go
LA Times ^ | 2/7/16 | CATHLEEN DECKER

A day after the New Hampshire debate wounded Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, it would have been logical for Donald Trump to take off after him, hoping to deliver a coup de grace against his closest competitor here.

But Trump is stuck on Jeb Bush like a dog clamping onto a bone.

-snip-

For good measure, he also mocked Bush for bringing his mother, former first lady Barbara Bush, to New Hampshire for campaign events Friday.

"Poor, poor, poor Jeb Bush, who brings out his mother because he needed help," he said, and turned to a babyish whine: "Mommy, please come walk in the snow, Mom."

you don’t have a problem with herding an elderly lady thru the snow? Instead, you’re upset with Trump for pointing it out

You are absolutely right. The RNC had this planned shortly after Romney’s lost. Remember we kept hearing how we needed a governor to be the next president? It was all set up for the race to be Clinton vs. Bush, then Bush wold take a dive and bingo- hello evil Clinton. Trump threw a monkey wrench into their plans, and he knows it. He also knows who and what the establishment is all about. He let Chrstie destroy Rubio - that was a thing of beauty.

Trump knows that Bush is going to be the one they ultimately try to foist on us. It’s been him since the beginning. He’s on the ballot in all 50 states. He still has cash. Trump has been after Bush since day one and every time they try to resurrect him Trump pounds him down again.

I don't have a problem at all with an elderly mother wanting to see the debate her son was in. And neither should anyone else.

I would have no problem if Trumps mother or elderly relative came to the debate and neither would any one of the other CLASSY candidates on that stage. Not one of them would SINK so low as to attack another's parent.

But then we are talking about a low class sink hole of a Donald Trump, he can't hep it he was born, bred and raised rude and nasty.

I do not support Bush, never have, never will, but what he did there was nothing but being a classless jerk.

That’s not what this is about. Jeb is having his mom walk through the snow , with her walker, to campaign for him. Slip and fall?

So can somebody explain to me how dragging Barbara Bush onto the campaign trail is to translate into votes for Jeb? Do people actually say “gee, I was a Rubio guy but being that Barbara was out there in the snow with her walker, I guess I’m going to have to go ahead and vote for her son instead.”

All of which is NONE of STRUMPS damned business, is it? Mrs. Bush came of her own free will?

If Strump had any class, he would have said what a pleasure it was to see Mrs. Bush here tonight and leave it at that. But that would be called CLASS....strump has none.

Bush is pathetic dragging her out in the snow like that. He cannot do anything without his establishment family pulling the strings. The Bushes are like roaches. It’s time for them to be finally retired by Jeb’s defeat.

Nothing says classy like bringing 90 year old mommy out with her walker in the snow.

Nothing says classless like mocking her for it.

The Bushes deserve it-—an entitled family that believe they deserve everything

Trump made the comment today, at a a Trump rally, not at the debate last night. You’re kind of fact-challenged

Anyway, if Trumps comment jars Jen into acting a little more responsibly - and stop putting his mi

I agree; without Trump, Jebbie would be at 40 percent and climbing. The Republican primary voters are too uninformed to figure out much.

Because they’re all the same! They feel entitled to power and it’s not like Barbara doesn’t bash people like Trump.

Because Jeb is a weak man. His mother is of no help to him. But he is a desperate loser. And his mother knows it.

It has been obvious for some time that Rubio merely parroted memorized lines. Still, I had not expected anything this extreme.

Yes, Barbara can be quite snarky. Remember what she said about Sarah Palin.
